I guess I'm confused... why would coming out to events from time to time or meeting with and socializing get you involved with some committee or other? Come out, enjoy the presentation and comraderie, and head home...

eh... long story relating to another Lit-together. We won't go there.

Went and saw Kenny Chesney last night. Boy was sicker than a dog and had to announce it on his fourth song. He really looked like death warmed over. Then he went on to play almost two hours and kicked it's ass.

I now have a new respect for the guy. I couldn't have done it. Oh and got some fantastic shots!!!

I'm just being silly. :nana:

Though we have been told that the purpose of this thread is not about tata's. I haven't yet figured out what the purpose of this thread is, but there must be one. :D :D :D :D

I was told they closed down lanes on 40 due to control all the traffic from the concert goers. I would have hated to have been traveling on 40 trying to get somewhere else.

I've just spent 5 or so hours in the yard cutting grass, etc. Ended up cutting back a bunch of stuff, too. I hope I don't get poison ivy (or somthing) again. I sure don't ever see any 3-leaved plants that look like poison ivy. Got plenty of briers, though. Those things get on my nerves. Anybody know how to get rid on them? AboutFace!! you are the yard expert. Any suggestions?????

Round up? It kills just about everything...especially if you paint it onto part of the plant that you have cut. Of course you still have to get rid of the briers after they are dead. (I am sure there are people who will tell me it is the stuff of satan but it works, and its what we use in the state parks on invasive species)

The small patch in our yard gets mowed down every once in a while. Doesnt stop it just keeps it in check. but since we are renting we dont care too much.

double post.... so in this one i will dance around naked...cover your eyes

I think the main purpose has turned into just a bunch of folks from all over, but primarily in the Carolinas, having a place to converse in good company. But of course tata's are always welcomed by some ;)

Spyro's right. Roundup is about the best way to control most any unwanted vegetation. Watch the lables closely tho as it's sold in 2 forms: premixed, what the avg consumer can normally find, and then there is the commercial stuff that costs about $90/gallon. In the past couple of years, vegetation has started to build a tolerance to it. That resulted from the cross pollination with agricultural crops that were genetically designed to be resitant to Roundup.

You can read more about it here: Roundup.com

And before you ask, yes I grew up and still help out on a farm :p
