thanks, Des...but, truth is, i have already overdone. that sucker is more swollen than a kid's face with the mumps! and i got two days of work to go and, no i can't call off...we have a new policy at work that if someone calls off then they don't replace you cause registry is to damn expensive....the only way they will replace is if only one CNA is there for the whole floor and then they will only bring in one person.

geri.... sweetie, administration is taking advantage of your team spirit. In short, this is manipulation. You need to take care of yourself. You aren't any good to anyone if you don't care for health and body. Have you at least wrapped it with an ace wrap? You really need to stay off it and elevate it. Take advil, apply ice, etc.
I know all about how expensive it is to bring in temporary help. I've been the nurse manager who had to pay the bills. And guess what? I still told my staff to take care of their lives and their physical needs. As long as you play by their rules, they will continue to treat you badly. My advice stands. Stay home and take care of yourself.

Good morning everybody.

snoopy7411.... Welcome to the thread! You don't have to like kinky sex to have fun with us. Enjoy Lit.

Everybody else, have a great day!

Thanks, hon. yes, I have been elevating it and wrapping it. Hoping it will just end up as a strain instead of something worse. And admin is going down hill fast. the guy who took over the top boss position has already driven off some good people and there are speculations that the place wont last too much longer. a pity cause its a great place when you have people who know what they are doing. Once i get my CNA (they are paying for it) i wont have to worry though cause i can get a job very readily with it if it does close down. its just sad to have to think like that.

Especially for Geri.....

Ethel is a bit of a demon in her wheelchair, and loves to charge
around the nursing home, taking corners on one wheel and getting up to maximum speed on the long corridors. Because the poor woman is one sandwich short of a picnic, the other residents tolerate her, and some of the males actually join in.

One day, Ethel was speeding up one corridor when a door opened and Kooky Clarence stepped out with his arm outstretched,"STOP!", he said in a firm voice. "Have you got a license for that thing?"

Ethel fished around in her handbag and pulled out a Kit Kat wrapper and held it up to him. "OK" he said, and away Ethel sped down the hall.

As she took the corner near the TV lounge on one wheel, Weird Harold popped out in front of her and shouted, "STOP! Have you got proof of insurance?"

Ethel dug into her handbag, pulled out a beer coaster and held it up to him.

Harold nodded and said, "Carry on, ma'am."

As Ethel neared the final corridor before the front door, Crazy Craig stepped out in front of her, stark naked, holding a very sizable erection in his hand.

"Oh, no" said Ethel, "Not the breathalyzer again!"

With pleasure my friend. Proof positive that even when you have to leave us for a time we still think about you. I've been hanging onto that waiting for you to get back.

Hugs and kisses

Dawn

PS: We females have to stick together to watch for the guys and the car wash thingy --- they've been a bit quiet, could be a sneak attack.

I believe we should conduct inventory and catalog all car wash thingy's. We girls need to know what we are up against. We each have two cheeks apiece, lets hope they are well covered but not overcovered.

All those with car wash thingy's display them please.

Dawn

PS: No hiding your thingy's!

PSS: Des, he said to tell you thank you.

Good afternoon to all!

Des you are going to have to tell me had you put the photo into the words part of the post! Also, that was very good advice to geri. Now if I can only grasp what this fascination is with washing cars I'd be happy.

:p

Dawn and geri I hope both of you recover quickly. GG I loved your joke!

Welcome snoopy!

I hope everyone has a great evening!

The squeek is gone, it has been replaced by silence. Now there is peace in my office, or so they proclaim (see if I buy chocolate for them anymore).

A medical student currently doing a rotation in toxicology
at the poison control center. This woman called in very upset
because she caught her little daughter eating ants. Quickly reassuring her that the ants are not harmful and there would be
no need to bring her daughter into the hospital. She calmed down
and at the end of the conversation happened to mention that she gave her daughter some ant poison to eat in order to kill the ants. Here's your sign, lady. Wear it with pride.

Seems that a year ago, some Boeing employees on the airfield
decided to steal a life raft from one of the 747s. They were
successful in getting it out of the plane and home. When they took it for a float in the river, a Coast Guard helicopter coming towards them surprised them. It turned out that the chopper was homing in on the emergency locator beacon that activated when the raft was inflated. They are no longer employed at Boeing. Here's your sign, guys. Don't get it wet; the paint might run.

A true story out of San Francisco: A man, wanting to rob a downtown Bank of America, walked into the branch and wrote "this iz a stickup. Put all your muny in this bag. While standing in line, waiting to give his note to the teller, he began to worry that someone had seen him write the note and might call the police before he reached the teller's window. So he left the Bank of America and crossed the street to Wells Fargo. After waiting a few minutes in line, he handed his note to the Wells Fargo teller. She read it and, surmising from his spelling errors that he wasn't the brightest light in the harbor, told him that she could not accept his stickup note because it was written on a Bank of America deposit slip and that he would either have to fill out a Wells Fargo deposit slip or go back to Bank of America. Looking somewhat defeated, the man said, "OK" and left. He was arrested a few minutes later, as he was waiting in line back at Bank of America. Don't bother with this guy's sign. He probably couldn't read it anyway.

A motorist was unknowingly caught in an automated speed trap
that measured his speed using radar and photographed his car. He later received in the mail a ticket for $40 and a photo of his car. Instead of payment, he sent the police department a photograph of $40. Several days later, he received a letter from the police that contained another picture, this time of handcuffs. He immediately mailed in his $40. Another sign (though this guy might be onto something worth thinking about)!

Guy walked into a little corner store with a shotgun and demanded all of the cash from the cash drawer. After the cashier put the cash in a bag, the robber saw a bottle of Scotch that he wanted behind the counter on the shelf. He told the cashier to put it in the bag as well, but the cashier refused, "Because I
don't believe you are over 21." The robber said he was, but the clerk still refused to give it to him because he didn't believe him. At this point, the robber took his driver's license out of his wallet and gave it to the clerk. The clerk looked it over and agreed that the man was in fact over 21 and he put the Scotch in the bag. The robber then ran from the store with his loot. The cashier promptly called the police and gave the name and address of the robber that he got off the license. They arrested the robber two hours later. Remind me to have more signs printed up. Give this guy his!

IDIOT # 6
A pair of Michigan robbers entered a record shop nervously
waving revolvers. The first one shouted, "Nobody move!" When his partner moved, the startled first bandit shot him. This guy doesn't need a sign; he probably figured it out himself.

IDIOT # 7
Arkansas: Seems this guy wanted some beer pretty badly. He
decided that he'd just throw a cinder block through a liquor store
window, grab some booze, and run. So he lifted the cinder block
and heaved it over his head at the window. The cinder block bounced back and hit the would-be thief on the head, knocking him unconscious. Seems the liquor store window was made of Plexi-Glass. The whole event was caught on videotape. Oh, that's smarts. Give him his sign!

IDIOT # 8
Ann Arbor: The Ann Arbor News crime column reported that a man
walked into a Burger King in Ypsilanti, Michigan at 12:50 A.M.,
flashed gun and demanded cash. The clerk turned him down because he said he couldn't open the cash register without a food order. When the man ordered onion rings, the clerk said they weren't available for breakfast. The man, frustrated walked away.

I agree Des. It's 6 here this morning (mountains of SW Virginia) Maybe the car wash thingy needs a steam cleaner, huh, or maybe one of those "sucky thing-a-ma-jigs".:p

BTW, Good morning all.

Dawn, sure hope your voice returns to normal soon. Everyone have a great day.
