Hello everyone. This being the first thread I've started, I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly, but this is how I suppose it works.

There is another thread that I have been posting in that is vaguely related to D&D. Several people in that thread have expressed an interest in running a through and through D&D game. This will be based around the 3.5 edition. I will be the DM for this, so now worries about storyline because I will take care of it myself. I planned on running a character myself. Go ahead and post your character sheets and bios here. Once we have enough players I will create the IC thread and we can start the first adventure. This is a Group SRP, though there is combat and all else that is required for the D&D genre. If you feel like forging more intimate relations with someone, go ahead and do so, just keep in mind that this isn't only about sex.

If you want, just post an existing sheet or find some way to get it to me. I understand that character sheets are incredibly long and posting them into the thread screws up the formatting. If you have word or notepad, well, everyone has notepad, just put your character sheet in as an attachment so I have it for reference. Otherwise, just post some general information about your character. I'll go first:

Name: Leo
Race: Doppelganger
Sex: Male
Class: Monstrous Humanoid (Damn Doppelgangers can't get a class till level 4.)
Appearance: Pale skin, silver eyes, 6'5", 220 pounds, silver hair down to his eyes. Mid muscular build. Wears a hooded robe to cover his features.
Bio: He is a Doppelganger. When he first awoke, he was much like he is now. He might have grown a few inches and gained ten or twenty pounds in his years of existance, but other than that he is the same. When he awoke he found himself beside a Dragonborn who had just hatched. Their relationship evolved into being very close friends. They always had each other's back. Unfortunately the Dragonborn was seperated from Leo during their last adventure together. He hasn't seen his friend since. He keeps a fragment of the Dragonborn's shell in a small case that he carries at all times to remind him of the Dragonborn he used to run with. Being the only of his kind that he has ever seen, he tends to keep to himself and avoid suspicion, never staying in the same place more than a few days at a time. He has seen much in his life.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Name: T'Liy (pronounced tuh-LEE)

Race: Aasimar- Grey Elf with planetouched features

Appearance: 5'11", pale blue-white skin, pointed ears, eyes that glow faintly like silver moonlight and knee-length silver hair.

Class: Druid

Background: T'Liy is a Grey Elf of the Silverthorn clan with obvious Celestial heritage. She was apprenticed at a young age to an elder Druid after showing a strong affinity with the local flora and fauna. Having completed her Druid's training and having passed the Four Fold Rite she is now free to follow the will of Ehlonna wherever the Goddess sees fit. T'Liy is never found far from her companion and mount, Vrand, a handsome pale-furred Elk. She wears magical Elven chain and carries a scimitar and shield, all of which is crafted of a special material known as Ironwood that is hard as iron, but is actually a wood specially harvested by Elven Druids from the fallen limbs of Ironwood trees.

PS: anyone who doesn't actually own the books and wants to follow the D&D v. 3.5 rules can go here http://www.d20srd.org/index.htm for rules and info. Thank goodness for the OGL!

If there is room for another female elf, I'd be interested. I have never played D&D of any version, and I am not sure if we're following the rules or just basing this play off the D&D universe or something.

Following the rules of 3.5 and yes there is plenty of room. I believe Tia posted a link for the rules. Thanks, Tia.

Simplest way to post a full and formated dnd character sheet is to write it up on notepad, then post it in code tags.

Advice aside, I do love me some DnD, and my holidays just started, so I am rather tempted join, I have am curious about what level and whatnot we would be starting at though.

Name: Aryk Daleborn or Aryk Doombringer
Race: Human
Appearance: 6'0, 175-180lbs, Caucasian, dirty blond shoulder length hair, blue eyes. Athletic build.

Class: Fighter/Soulknife

Bio: Aryk's family has a long history of service in the Army. So Aryk joined as soon as he was old enough, as was expected of him. Unfortunately, not soon after, his squad ran into a band of Orcs and only a few men survived the battle. This was also when Aryk discovered he was a Soulknife. His blade manifested for the first time during the battle. The other members of his unit claimed it was sorcery or a marked disfavor from the Gods, and labeled Aryk the "Doombringer." Scared, Aryk fled and has taken to roaming the land, going wherever the mood strikes him or the occasional bounty hunting job leads. He's had several small successes at catching local outlaws and such, but has yet to encounter anyone truly dangerous.

Of course you may join. Probation, thanks for sending me your sheet, though I believe that it is level 5? I posted that we would start at level one to answer that question. Probation, I apologize if I didn't make that more clear, but I need a level one character sheet from you.

My apologies.

Shameless Double Post

Allright, just wanted to clue everyone in on a possible idea to replace the D&D magic system.

I just had an idea to use a different system for magic because it gives mages and magic users the chance to use their spells more often. Basically what I had in mind is that magic users will be able to "prepare" a set number of spells that they can use at a given time. At the start it will be three and I was thinking of adding one for every two caster levels. TO use the prepared spells you have to use mp, magic points. It's basically a mana pool that you draw your power from. The amount of mana you get is determined by your intelligence.

I figure out the finer points of it once we get enough people. Any ideas for a cutoff? Oh, and I'll start the IC thread once we get five people.

Three confirmed at the moment. Four others have shown interest.

No character sheet yet, but I have the profile done, Hoping to play a tiefling Barbarian varient, and pretend that his rages are realy his a product of his demonic side.

Name: Jota
Race: Tiefling
Sex: Male
Class: City brawler Barbarian (it’s a Dragon magazine variant, details here http://chet.kindredcircle.org/pdf/DnD3.5Index-Classes-Base.pdf)
Appearance: Jota is a tall man, standing at an impressive 6’8 if you include the two horns that protrude from just behind his ears, both of them the colour of yellowed bone that matched the irises of his eyes, which were bordered by pitch black sclera. But, for all his height, Jota was not the biggest of men, closer to being lanky then stocky, his muscles, while quite capable of doing their job, lacked the regular bulging quality most people in his profession possessed. His tough skin was a mixture of symmetrical patches of pure white and black, with quite a few scars marring its surface, while his hair stood in the midpoint as a pale shade of grey. The one thing upon him that didn’t match with the colour scheme he had since birth was the deep purple gemstone embedded in his chest.
Pic: http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs37/f/2008/260/3/3/zell_by_KOD_kittenofdeath.jpg

Bio: Jota’s mother was a demon, and was killed when some townsfolk caught her supposedly stealing some poor woman’s baby, of course it turned out to be her own, and she was simply taking it to somewhere he would be accepted. Jota was then thrown in to an orphanage dedicated to some god he never bothered to learn about, though the rather devoutly religious folk who ran it were less than kind to the demon spawn they were forced to care for.

Before long though, he was adopted by a travelling circus to be used as an attraction, which did little to improve his quality of life. One night, when he was 12, the circus was attacked by a roaming band of orcs, Jota, having little love for his owners, couldn’t care less about the painful death they were about to have, instead he took the chance to leave, clearing the circus’s safe out before disappearing in to the night. The years after that he spent in a nearby city, and after puberty hit and his less than nice side started to emerge, he found himself employed by a local thieves guild as a thug, where his violent demonic rages could be put to good use. It wasn’t a glamorous life, but he was happy.

Most recently however, Jota left his happy little place in the big city to go on a quest, the glorious task of going and getting stuff, then bringing the stuff back… It had sounded much more interesting when the dwarf had offered him the job over the mug of free drink, should have known better then to trust a dwarf that gives away alcohol.

Yes, I suppose it is like the point system for Unearthed Arcana. And I'm afraid I don't know what you mean. Why wouldn't you be able to play something with level adjustments?

I thought we were starting at first level? I was thinking of playing an avariel elf, but there is a three level adjustment to play that race.

I believe level adjustments are meant so that the character has the power a beast of similar race would have at that level. The Doppelganger has a +3 level adjustment so Leo's still a level one player character, but technically a level four due to adjustments because that is the strength the monster Doppelganger would have.

Am I making sense?

Just find a character generator for 3.5. Any one should do. I can give you a different way to do it, but it would take some time.

Don't know what that is.

And on a side note: One more character submitted and I'll start up the IC.

Not a problem. Just post the general info here when you can and pm me your sheet.

That reminds me: I need the character sheets for all the characters participating here.

I'm working on it, as we speak. Probably be tomorrow when I have it done and I will post it then.

I'm interested but ive never done anything D n D related. Is it possible to do an archer assassin? basically a stealther archer

Char sheet on the way.

Just to be on the up-and-up: my equipment is considered "powerful" for a first level character because of its special qualities. The Ironwood special material is a way to by-pass the no-metal restriction on the Druid class, and I eluded to, but did not specifiy, that the armor is Wild Shape, which allows for unimpeded shape shifting, (although I think Druids don't get their first form until 4th or 6th lvl ?). Both items would receive the "Masterwork" bonus, but neither has any additional bonus for being magical.

If either of these things are a problem just toss me a msg.

Also, do you need a separate sheet with the statistical info for Vand, my Elk?

And, last but not least, do we need to spell out our miscellaneous equipment? When I play I'm usually pretty particular about what my character(s) are carrying because I've pulled some pretty unusual tricks that helped us along just by having certain items at all times. Like rope. There are only a bajillion uses for a good length of rope!
