Casual observations...

I am not particularly political either, but I am on the receiving end of a neverending tirade of hate simply because I happen to 1) white and 2) male.

I'm a little left of center but I can't tell you how many times I've been called racist, bigot, (or some such) based on race alone. After a while, you learn to tune it out. It no longer means anything.

I don't know what kind of "hate speech" the OP is talking about. But I would hazard a a guess that the posters are either purposely trolling (which is very common) or just don't bother to censor themselves because it makes no difference either way.

I just see a lot of anti-Jewish, anti-black, etc. racial slurs being tossed around, and a lot of "non-whites/immigrants go back to your country!" type of sentiments being bandied about on the general board. There are at least a half dozen different regular posters on there that I can name right off the bat, that regularly spew that kind of stuff. I get it that people have different opinions, but the racist and anti-semitic stuff really gets to me.

I have found that on the GB as well. Here is what works for me. While I am not going to name names, if I see threads started by certain people, I just ignore them. There is no place for that level of hatred. While I don’t like labels, I would consider myself more conservative, but not far right. I don’t invite negativity into my life in the news or FB either.
