CBS News Poll: The majority of Democrats are idiots.

It remains to be seen whether or not Hillary will be prosecuted for destroying gov. documents.

And I now can wait to see if she is--although my understanding is that there were no actionable laws or even State Department rules in place about this until this February, which is after her tenure was over. Should have been, of course.

If she does get prosecuted, it will open up a Pandora's box on a wide range of Democratic and Republican representatives and bureaucrats alike, as it was (and probably still is) a wide-spread practice.

No it doesn't. For a number of reasons. First we know that probably close to half the goddamn government is doing this and she's just the idiot who got caught. They aren't likely to pull the trigger.

More importantly she's Hillary "Fucking" Clinton. She could probably eat a live baby on television and chalk it up the Republican screw job with CGI. . .even if she did it at the Super Bowl.

there are rules for destroying evidence AFTER a subpoena is issues

and the clinton's always tell you the truth...plus they hand out free cigars after they fuck you

Hillary is accused of doing something the wrong way, not doing something wrong. It's a distinction most people depend upon in their daily lives.

When this is combined with the idea that most people would just as soon not have their emails exposed to public view, it's hard to get people worked up over Hillary's latest problems, unless they already had a problem with Hillary.

No, she is accused of doing something wrong and it is evident the accusations are based in fact.

We aren't talking about someone taking steps to shield their personal correspondence. We're talking about a sitting SOS going so far as to set up her own fucking personal email service to block the public from knowing what she was doing during official business as one of the highest ranking government officials. This is a brazen violation of basic ethics and the foundation of trust in our government and also the rules.

When somebody wants power as bad as Hillary does, feels as entitled to power as much as Hillary does, and hates the First Amendment as much as she, her husband, an her daughter do, you should be wary of giving them power.

So out of all that official business and contact with all levels of government over four years through this e-mail account, nobody happened to notice she was doing it wrong?

Her family has controlled the DNC since the 1980s. When you're a career or political employee with a Democratic boss, you're not going to cross that kind of person.

It doesn't make it right. Otherwise, organized crime in general/the Nuremberg Defense would be legitimate.

You wouldn't even have to cross them. How is she going to figure out who leaked to the press? Hundreds of Reps, dozens of Senators to say nothing of various appointees and NOBODY said anything until after the Benghazi scandal failed? C'mon. We know what happeend here.

When did Chelsea start hating the First Amendment?

I'm curious what any of them have done to hate the first amendment.

This also, but for the moment, let's run with the "If They're Democrats Elected To Higher Office, Then They Hate/Hated The First Amendment" fantasia some people here love traipsing. Which omits Chelsea since she's higher-officeless and hasn't done anything to merit being in the news as a Democrat scion except birth that baby.

You are clearly not familiar with how vindictive Hillary Clinton is both personally and professionally.

Example: A retired government employee engaged in a bit of silent protest against her. What was her response?

She had the man cuffed and beaten and then added to government watch lists.

She would find out and there would be consequences.

The Clintons, as a family, hate the press. Specifically, they hate the idea that the government rules by consent of the governed and the people have a right to know what the government does in their name.

Outside of collecting paychecks from "news" organizations as an employee despite this family policy, being a third partner of the Clinton Foundation--which is the heart of their political financial corruption these days--and such, what kind of things has Chelsea Clinton done to warrant being roped into the discussion with her parents on this issue?

This is hogwash, you know that?

Uh, where's the "hatred of the First Amendment?" That's a media personality/celebrity declining comment. That 9 year old got a good lesson about what happens on a daily basis in any sort of press journalism, anywhere, by anyone for whatever reason.

Cahh-mon, Sen. It's okay to not be fond of the Clints, but don't play yourself by reaching for and stretching any lil' ol' thing. Go for a full burger on a plate, not a lightly crisped potato chip off the floor.

In this thread, the burger would be Hillary Clinton having a senior citizen beaten and detained for practicing his right to free public expression and then put on government watch lists and harassed until he took State to court and won.

There's nothing wrong in pointing out they are fucking horrible people in big ways and small.

First if you believe that you're an idiot. Second if you believe that you believe every Republican in office is an idiot. I can think of hundreds of ways I could leak that information that could never ever be traced back to me in any way shape or form.

How's she gonna find out if you for example print out a ream of paper with her email address and just dump it a kinkos? Only in 24 are you going to be able to use enough traffic cams to figure out who left that there. There are so many ways to set up annonymous emails that I don't see anyway she stops you from going to a public library and setting one up and sending her information to every press agency on the planet.

Honestly I find it curious that Republicans are so utterly terrified of Democrats and yet you insist upon pissing us off. If I honestly thought the Republicans were going to send black vans for my family if I spoke out I'd either A) shut up, kiss the ring and hope not to be noticed or B) tell my family they aren't safe and go out in a blaze of glory. Republicans insist on option C) where you keep poking the bear in the eye.

I think you all honestly know the bear is named Teddy Ruxpin and while it may move and make noise it's utterly harmless. (Unless you take it in the bath with you. Don't do that.)

Most people in DC are actually idiots--idiocy mainly driven by hubris/ego but idiocy nonetheless.

Hell, Rahm Emanuel couldn't leak without getting caught.

Also, I'm not a Republican

While I may have assumed you were I didn't actually say you were. And no, most people in DC are not idiots, they are fairly to highly intelligent, well educated and driven people.

If they can't leak without getting caught one wonders how they win elections.

Um, they've tanked every national election since 2008, actually--by historical margins. (The big elections they won were the presidential elections, which were basically thrown fights.)

The exceptions to this have been the state parties that tell the national party to go get fucked and do their own thing, i.e. run competent campaigns. Nevada under Reid in 2010, California in general under the Obama regime, and Connecticut last year being the big examples.

DC Democrats are spoiled rich kids with pretty much no meaningful real world experience. (And this is true of most Republicans, too, except they tend to have lower levels of achievement in formal education/alternate career tracks.) They are enlightened idiots who buy into their own hype.

Most people in D.C. are running in elections, you think? Where do you live? Stinking Gulch, Idaho? :D

You know, it's folks like you who justify political leaders NOT wanting to share every little bit of information they gather and policy planning they engage in with the great unwashed electorate.

Most people who know how to run campaigns do not work in DC. Stupid, highly paid consultants who pat themselves on the back when they win an election that is impossible to lose due to the demographics of the state/district and blame every loss on the cruel hands of fate live and work in DC--and Austin, Austin is the runner-up for people who make a lot of money working campaigns who have no fucking idea what they are doing.

If you want to run into actually competent campaign staffers, you pretty much have to go to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Chicago, and New York.

When it comes to electeds, money and the power of incumbency are what protects them, not competent campaigns. The current minority caucus in Congress is largely comprised of incumbents in districts or states that are demographically stacked in the favor of the Democratic Party. It's not a coincidence.

Also, the less said about Idaho in that conversation, the better. Their state party works out of a goddamn strip mall, only the top handful of staffers working for the state party are actually paid political professional salaries--and most of them don't have real-world political experience.

IDP views senior staff positions as jobs that can be learned as you go.
