This was our schedule before the lag. The first three chapters have come out, so I bolded those.

Our chapter names are still screwed up pretty badly. I don't think we have a way of fixing those though, so I wouldn't worry about it.

NP. This makes two that I'm trying to keep track of now, lol, although the other one is beginning to have a life of it's own. So, Jett, how are you coming baby? Anything you need help with?

We'll manage. I've got my second chapter pretty much written already, and I'm pretty excited about posting it

Has anyone looked at the "Laresa's World" chain titles? They're pretty close to what we originally wanted to do. I wonder if we could get Lit to fix our titles so they resemble theirs. Sorry I keep on obsessing over this, but it's so irritating.

Ok, I've got my chapter almost finished. I'll be submitting it today - the title should be Deus Ex Machina Ch. 04: Cleo, yes? I'm sure that if we PM Laurel and explain what we're going for with the titles, they'll be fixed.

Yes, that would be just right. I just PM'd Laurel and I hope I explained our problem well enough. I am also going to PM Selenakittyn and ask if she is still interested in doing the chain. If not, we will start over in the list.

Thanks for writing and I hope you're well.

We have no problem changing the titles. Please do note that in order to accommodate the longer titles, we will have to shorten the descriptions a bit if they run long. We try (though sometimes we fail ) to keep the description and title on one line. So long as you're all cool with that, I'll make the necessary changes.

I hope that none of you will have a problem with this. My description happens to be extremely short, so I believe that they will not need to change anything. FtF's chapter description is already on two lines. Darkgoddess' will be once the title is changed, so both of these run the risk of being shortened.

Jim? I actually just chose the name randomly, since he's not a central character (at least, not yet)... Had I known before I hit submit, I could have easily changed it. Apologies for the monkey wrench.

That's fine. It's not that big a deal. I've had to change names plenty of times before.

At least there's sexual contact in my second chapter. Whee!

I'm so proud I do have my plot figured out for this one It's not very complicated, but I think that it will be effective.

SK hasn't PM'd me back, so I think she may have lost interest. Should we try to atract a few more people, since our numbers are dwindling pretty fast?

Which reminds me, I've been meaning to ask if you felt like reviving Deus Ex Machina... I've got a story written, but I don't want to be the only one submitting anything for that chain ever again... and I know you were very excited about your story.

I'd love to... The frequency of my computer access may be an issue, but I'm sure I could work around it.

If I may hijack your thread for a minute here...

The schedule is screwed anyway, so we could probably just submit whenever we want to. Since there were four major writers, I was thinking we could simply submit future chapters as every fourth one from the one we started off with... so since I did Ch.03, I'd be doing 07, 11 and so on. Or, alternatively, we could just keep going with 05, 06, 07... until someone complains

I know FtF withdrew her story, so technically there's only three writers left anyway, if darkgoddess is going to come back and be motivated to contribute again (I hope). So in conclusion... I don't know. These are just a bunch of suggestions. But I've got some more written and I'd love to get started on this again.

I'd say that we should just go ahead and alternate with whoever's still in; maybe we could even find a new writer or two to join us. So long as we keep each other posted on when new chapters are submitted, we shouldn't encounter any numbering problems.

Well from what I gathered, FtF is out. Darkgoddess is in until she says otherwise. I agree, it may be fun to find another writer to fill in the now missing Ch.02. So we have a Ch.01 by darkgoddess, Ch.03 by me and Ch.04 by you.

So who would be writing Ch.05? And as what would I submit my next chapter?

If she's out of the loop for the moment, I'd say you're up next... I thought we were titling them the way that mine went up, though I kinda lost track along with the frequency of my internet access.

The last concensus on titling was this: The first chapter of an author's contribution will be titled

Deus Ex Machina: Character Name

The following chapters will be titled

Deus Ex Machina: Descriptive Title

However, the character name should be in the description, so that we can make sure readers know which plot is being advanced (even though the author name should be a giveaway).

Anyway, I submitted my second chapter as Ch.05. I just want to keep writing my story, hence the efforts to keep this chain going.
