Most definitely. There are times when there is no confict, at least not on the boards, but at others that's all there is. I kind it find it similar to roommates. For awhile there is a new group of faces here and everyone is busy getting to know the new people and being on their best behavior and then a couple of months in people start to act like themselves again, human. So then there is conflict. Dont' think it's a bad thing, and i don't think it will stop, we just need to ride it out.

LOL...a natural progression...sometimes though...I wish the "honeymoon" could go on........FOREVER!

I wonder how much of it has to do with the inability of people to get into threads?

There is some risk into entering into threads that have hundreds of replies and people who already known one another. It is almost like entering someones home without permission

I don't post a whole lot beyond a few threads I frequent so I may not be the best judge for why people stay or leave, but I just wonder if people find it too hard to really get into the groove, as it were, and simply decide to move on.

You make a good point, friend! If there weren't a couple people encouraging me at first...I probably would have been a casualty. I remember most...Red and MissingMeds. They were both kind and welcoming when I made the mistake of starting on the GB..with some silliness blurting out.

Perhaps I can count as friends then...KR and Kyle...who told me to: GET THE FUCK OFF THE GB or get eaten alive. LOL! What a SHOCK!

I've enjoyed a full year on lit and am starting a second. Twice I almost left. . .but I decided I am me and I won't change for anyone, there are conflicts on every forum. People come and go, life changes and so does Lit. Seasons effect it, but also just plain living effects the boards. I'm glad to be here and enjoy my time even if I have to deal with folks that don't like me.

I started out on the GB. Got into a few arguments and realized the other side wasn't listening so I rarely bother now. Every once in a while I'll still do it though. One of the first PMs I ever got was from someone on the GB (it was a nice PM, not a nasty one).

I enjoy lurking on the gb. I enjoy the sarcastic wit and the difference of opinions. The gb is actually alot nicer now than it was three years ago (although they won't admit it)

to me its typical pattern for any msg forum online really....people enjoy for a period of time then grow tired of it and find something in reality to keep their attention until that bores and they come back....I tend to stay around only a little while then come back for awhile then leave.....maybe I found that happy medium or something

People come and they go.....Become bored and move on....Take a break and come back......Summer is here so people enjoy the outdoors......The cool weather comes around, so people tend to come back.....

Myself, I become bored, so I take a break and then I'll come back.....As for the GB, I stay away from it...

They ARE scary...but for many that's their mask....a protection. Do you know how many times I've been threatened by some...to destroy me? But....they don't...much like muslim terrorists these days...big talk..but wisdom prevails.

I post on both boards, the mindset is totally different on the GB. The PG is laidback while the GB is fast and furious. You need a thick skin and a sense of humor to weather the GB. I started by posting on threads of friends on the PG but there were 2 problems with that. One was I found myself saying Good Morning, Good afternoon Etc. and I realized it took too much time and was fairly redundant. I'm not ignoring anyone but between work, family and homelife I just don't have the time.
