I used to enjoy visiting chat rooms on AOL, and Yahoo from time to time. But now, everytime I go I always get the IMs from the bots and crap like that. Are there chatrooms out there that are free of these ultra capitalistic internet parasites? If you know of any, please let me know.

There were times where I visited chatrooms and I was actually IMed by living human beings. I sure miss those times !

I never go to Yahoo chatrooms anymore.
If you like adult chat, I strongly recommend anywebcam.com.

I'm right there with you pal. I used to like Yahoo but was driven off by bots PMing me. I don't understand why they don't make it so you can automatically block a PM with a link in it, since the bot's PM's have a link to their shitty site.

Goddamn Capitalism out of control ! I remember the days I used to have decent conversations on AOL chat rooms. Those days were long gone. Yahoo is just as bad now if not even worse. I guess I'll try the aformentioned sites suggested here.

The situation with the spambots is out of control, big time. Our IRC network won't have 'em. If I see 'em, they get banned

and also a site full of Trojans. Clicking on one of those links is a good way to get your machine owned.

A bot is a program that does things on IRC (or any other chat network) for whoever owns it. There are nice bots that offer useful functions, such as games, quotes, and other fun things. Then there is the other type of bot that is nasty. These include spambots (these are the ones that PM or IM you with links) and warbots that are used to carry out various types of attacks.
Offensive bots are difficult to keep off of a chat server unless you know what you are doing. When I say http://www.bondage-radio.com will be very spam free I mean Spam free. Sienna can attest to my experience with IRC security

I've never been to yahoo chatrooms before, a very long time ago there was this place called chatplanet.com. I'm not sure if anyone heard of this place, if you've been around for the past 7-8yrs you might know of it. MSN chatrooms was pretty good too but of course this were before we had to pay for the services.
