Cheating Husband or Loving Husband stories?

I... what? I was just pointing out that your comment read as less than constructive. I'm surprised you take that as a personal attack on your person. I'll see myself out as you seem to be having a bad day.
You totally misread my initial post - it happens on line.

But hard to misunderstand

you decided to jump in with an unsolicited roundhouse kick to every male author's head about how privileged we all are.

Or was that just meant to be a joke?

No, it wasn't a joke. I apologize if I misunderstood your post.

To me, and possibly to Offkilter as well, it SOUNDED like you were complaining about men on Literotica being allowed to do whatever we want, while women on Literotica have to tiptoe through the categories while adhering to the male rules and then still get abolished for it. Which, as others have already pointed out, is simply not true.

Burn the Bastard in LW goes over just as well as Burn the Bitch. And while Cuckquean stories go better than Cuckold stories, that's mostly because the Cuckquean stories contain little to no sadism.

I mean, I get Lovecraft jumping in and bashing the men on here. She can't help herself. It's her entire online persona. But with you, it kinda surprised me.

It's curious how all the threads about loving wives and loving husbands inspire so much... love. Somebody oughta save us and change those idioms.

Seriously, we are drowning in love here. 🫤

As I say, tone can get lost on line. But not much room for misinterpretation in Mr Male Authority’s previous response. And the pleasant girl who let stuff slide died some time ago.

Several of us (including me) made comments alluding to the double standard - in readers' expectations - in LW, and somewhat generally on the site. And maybe more generally in society regarding their smut preferences.

Regardless, offkilter was out of line and made it personal.

People get way too wrapped up in trying to figure out what they think is logical or makes sense. Sense and logic have nothing to do with it. The question is, simply, is there a market for this content? Is there an audience that wants to read it?

Is there a readership for stories about "hot" husbands -- husbands who have sex outside of their marriage with the approval of the wives? I don't sense there's much of one.

Is there a readership for stories about women getting revenge on cheating husbands? I don't sense there's much of one.

Is there a readership for stories about female "cuckolds"-- wives who experience humiliation (but erotic humiliation) when their husbands have sex with other women? I don't sense there's much of one.

If I'm wrong and there IS such a readership, then it would make sense for the Site to create a category or categories to address that need. I don't see enough need to justify a category.

Okay, we have the category for Loving Wives/cheating wives. Why isn't there one for men? Would INCELS find them as objectionable as the 'tuther way around? I think we generally see these in Erotic Couplings. Is that their proper place?

Come on now, I really want everyone's opinion on this.
You know why there aren't many stories of that ilk???
The site is 90% male.
They don't want to read about cheating men...
It's too much like looking in the mirror...
To close to home...
They prefer to let their anger rumble away while they read their daily dose of revenge hate porn as some poor woman is burnt at the stake...

As an aside I actually wrote 6 or so cheating husband stories and posted them in LW.
LOL...
The responses were interesting...,
Apparently the misogynist commenters still found ways to maker it the woman's fault.

I naïvely assumed it was "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more."
They really need to change the blurb. Maybe something like “Divorce revenge fantasies and incel-central.” Or perhaps “Women should know their proper place.”

That's more about your stories than all stories. In your stories where the MC is female and is wronged by a man, he generally gets burned to the ground; in your stories where the MC is male and is wronged by a woman, he generally is expected to forgive, to reconcile, and, if possible, take as much of the blame as possible. When people complain in your comments, I've noticed, that appears to be the bone of contention.

Is that actually true? I've heard differently, but have source amnesia on it. And I would think that written smut would appeal more to women than men generally.
I think the readership skews heavily male (based on what I see with comments and favorites). My impression is that it’s the same with authors, but maybe to a lesser degree. AH probably has a higher female membership than either of those groups, but we are still a minority. That’s as we love to chat of course 😬.

Children, don't make daddy pull the car over and whip your butts with his belt. Mommy doesn't like it when you do that.

Just shitting with you. You're all very entertaining today. Keep up the work, but bring it back to center.

My comment wasn't about comparison.
It was about readers reactions to stories where the cheater was male....
There are other writers who have written stories where the male was the cheater. They got the same reaction I did...
Men don't like to read about men cheating...
LOL I think it's their male ego...
They need to believe men are superior... Never cheat... Always right...
Just my opinion...

How are you getting a sense for the lack of a market? Have you tried writing these types of stories?

I wrote "The Teacher - 750 Words" to test this very subject. "Shy wife learned her husband is cheating."

This was posted to LW, received 13k views and 3.61 with 651 votes! (Remember I'm a shitty writer, so that's GOOD!) It received the usual spread of LW's shitty comments (particularly for the 750 word limit.) But one (out of 29) said:

I appreciate your story adhering to the 750 word rules, but you should have saved this storyline for a real full picture version. It’s written well and the set up is perfect for a number of chapters but you kinda cheated yourself out of a possible Great story.

So, I intend to work on the longer version.

At least @Cagivagurl gave it a shot with 6 stories!

Unless more authors put forth some effort, we'll never know. But we can at least keep bashing those misogynistic incels for the status quo. LOL.

Oh, my God, men always right? What group of dreamers they must be.

They need to read MORE LW stories to appreciate that some of those anonymous comments are the same single individuals repetitively posting their same shitty comments on almost every story.

The LW comments need to be screened by the author, sorting out the real ones on their story from the noise of those just shouting the same BTB things they post on every story. It's as if someone takes 26thNC or Wargamer's comments seriously. Those two and several Anonymous are making fools of a lot of people.

And at least I recognize that some complaints in comments on my stories are valid. I am a shitty writer.

26thNC and Wargamer have both given me compliments on reconciliation stories. While they're more finicky about that at some times, they are largely fair, I've found.
