Cheating Husband or Loving Husband stories?

26thNC and Wargamer have both given me compliments on reconciliation stories. While they're more finicky about that at some times, they are largely fair, I've found.
They quickly and consistently bash my consensual sharing stories, even when I go to extremes showing the husband enjoying other swinger wives.

So, I put those two (and a few anons) in that "monogamy-only" reader category, who should have skipped my story, but consistently insist on reading and commenting on every one. (Noise, and a -1.0 rating)

My comment wasn't about comparison.
Mine is. You make sweeping claims about men (which I presume includes authors as well as readers) and use the reactions to your stories as a basis for judgment.
It was about readers reactions to stories where the cheater was male....
There are other writers who have written stories where the male was the cheater. They got the same reaction I did...
And plenty of other authors have written stories where the cheater was male and gotten acclaim. Range Cold and Relentless immediately come to mind (both BTBs with 4.5+ scores and tons of positive comments, some asking for more scorned wife stories), and a sizable minority of LW stories feature a married man as the affair partner; if that married man doesn't catch some heat, you'll hear about it from the comments section.

BTBastard stories can do well. Cheating husbands experiencing the range of consequences from reconciliation to scorched earth can do well. It might be your opinion, but opinions can be wrong. Sometimes, they can be provably wrong.

You're right that they're definitely monogamy-only guys; they didn't like my sharing story over in Group. But they were also fair about it, saying that they liked the writing but found the content revolting. And, frankly, that's fair. 26thNC, in particular, commented on We Need to Talk... About Plagiarism that he spent a bunch of time in the hospital and read a huge chunk of the back catalog of the category; as I wrote in the afterword of Well-Intentioned, published earlier today, while praising vhs_kitten's first story on the site (a mild cuckolding story), part of what makes the category great is that you can open a story and have no idea what's going to happen; that's a double-edged sword, though.

Opinions...
We all have them...
remember that next time...
Yours are no better than anybody else.
You know, it's the mirror. Sometimes you have to look in it...
Oh... BTW.
That's just my opinion.

LOL, okay. Remember when you told me a while back that if I'd only listen? Mirror, mirror...

I mean, I love SaddleTramp; I correspond with him sometimes. But the dude loves his BTBs. That's not a bad thing; he writes a great BTB. But I actually don't know if he's written a scorned wife story. Man, I'd love to read one now, if he hasn't. That would be an epic actin movie of a thing, probably.

I think he has 1 or 2, not 100% sure of that though. I haven't read em all yet. he is one of a select few I read in the LW category

Sorry, I don't recall... Have we spoken before?
I'm afraid you're wrong though.
Your opinions are no better than anybody else. You're just an average person. Nothing special...
If you think otherwise, it's just your fragile male ego.

LOL okay. If you say so.

Okay, we have the category for Loving Wives/cheating wives. Why isn't there one for men? Would INCELS find them as objectionable as the 'tuther way around? I think we generally see these in Erotic Couplings. Is that their proper place?

Come on now, I really want everyone's opinion on this.
LW is already a weird category concept to begin with, I wouldn't wanna have LH just to balance out the craziness lol.

Happy spouse/SO stories -> Romance
Cheating -> new category for such or just stick it in Fetish.

No need for loving anything. But then again there is an audience for it… which is prob why its there.

i agree that LW really should be seperated into 2 seperate categories, cheating and actual LW.

I wonder if the Tags have more to do with it than anything else tho? misplaced tags?

Misplaced emotions is more like it.

There is a culture around the category, and tbh idk that removing or changing the field would fix it. They would just move to the next thing with their brigading of expectations.

maybe. but if it can be seperated, It may allow others who are afraid to post in there to actually write loving wives stories more often? or alleviate some fears. thick skin goes only so far lol

I think honestly there are plenty of other categories to get around LW if you don’t want to be there.

yep. I chose Romance for my first foray into writing. I'm not afraid to admit, LW scares me. I have thick skin, and I read stories in there, but DAMN! some of the comments even made me cringe! lol.

If only you'd listen...
Sad, really. You'd think you'd want to be a better writer than you are.
Can't help yourself can you.
You just gotta have the last word.
So convinced you know best...
So sad...
We could do this all day, but

Still... Trying huh.
Yes, you are very trying. Anyways, this has been a lovely waste of time. I'll let you get back to your next story about weak men that don't act like men and cheating women that throw tantrums when they don't get their way. Night.

I have to say, I think SaddleTramp is the perfect example of what icks me whenever threads like this one start to derange.

I mean... as much as people like to complain about the BTB(itch) theme, that SaddleTramp likes to take to the extreme, I feel like people like to forget what happens to the male AP in those stories. As far as I could see so far, in the vast majority of those stories, the burning of the wife consists of outing her as a cheater and then leaving her divorced... while their male APs usually end up either maimed (have their testicles removed courtesy of a very stampable work boot) or straight-up dead.

I see stories featuring a reconciliation path that do VERY well... IF the reconciliation is worked out in a way that makes sense! All an author has to do is guide the reader through the thought process that goes beyond "Well, I'm gonna lose my house and children if I divorce her, so I'll just suck it up", and they're golden!
