Dan Bridger was angry. He had received a call from his daughter's school stating that she had been caught cheating again; she had been pushing the rules and the system to see how far she could go, and now she was straddling the line of expulsion. He came home from work early, his tall frame shrouded with construction coveralls and fire resistant clothing, he waited. This was the final straw; he was going to make sure she graduated, because that was his job.
When the lock jingled open and the front door swung inside, he locked eyes with his darling child, the one he had loved so much, his only piece of life left in the whole world, and sternly let his voice erupt.
"We've got to talk."
