Hey everyone;
I was in NYC with the gf last week, and we purchase a combination cock ring vibrator thingy that stimulates her clit. On my side, there's two rings, one larger one I fit over my cock and around the underside of my balls; the other was a ring that simply fit over my cock near the base. So here's the question: when I was using it (and I'm pretty sure I had the thing on right), it didn't do anything for me, except deaden my cock to sensation; to the point where, although I was hard, I had to ask gf if I was fucking her! No, it's not supposed to make you go numb. Perhaps the one you bought was a poor design, was too tight, or the vibrations nixed the sensation? Have you tried stretchy and/or adjustable rings in the past? That's what we use on occasion, and hubby says they increase his staying power and make things slightly MORE sensitive. We've never tried one with a vibe in it, but I've never been able to figure out how they provide clitoral stimulation during thrusting. Instead, we use just a ring and a separate vibe...you may want to try that before discounting the idea completely.
