COCKTAILS Anybody?

help me decide...

tonight...

Vesper with lemon twist or Vodka martini with blue cheese olives

Gonna pick some mint from the garden today and make mint simple syrup. I use it in Mojitos and Juleps. One of those will be one the agenda tonight. Cheers.

One of my favorite mint drinks below...very refreshing.

Upper Eastsider Gin Cocktail
Ingredients
• 5-6 slices cucumbers
• 6 mint leaves
• 1 lime, cut in 6 wedges
• 1 jigger (1.5 ounces) Hendricks gin
• 1/4 - 1/2 ounce agave nectar to taste
• Ice cubes
• 1 cucumber wheel and a mint sprig for garnish
Instructions
1. Muddle the cucumber and mint in the bottom of a cocktail shaker until the cucumbers is smashed and the mint is broken down into small pieces. Add limes and continue muddling until the limes release their juices.
2. Add enough ice to fill your shaker two thirds of the way to the top. Add gin and agave. Put the perforated lid and the cap on the shaker and shake really hard for a good minute. Condensation will form on the outside of the shaker and it will be very cold to the touch.
3. Remove the lid and pour the cocktail through the perforated cap into a martini glass and garnish with a cucumber wheel and a sprig of mint. If you have muddled correctly there will be a few small pieces of mint happily swirling around in your drink.

I do enjoy a great cocktail! Fruity ones are delicious. My favorite is a simple mix of Coconut rum and pineapple juice!

I do like the mixture in the summer, but I don't like flavored rum, straight rum, pineapple juice, soda, and a dash of creme de coconut.

Sounds like a great summer drink :) I have most of that stuff too!

Todays bloody mary was usual 2 shots of vodka and 3 shots of tom. juice. Squeeze of lime, Horseradish, Worcestershire and hot sauce, some pickle juice, black pepper, celery salt and some cajun seasoning.

So I just made the simple syrup, put the mint in, muddled and it's simmering on the stove now for an hour.

You know you've spent too much time at Lit/with porn when your muddler reminds you of a big black dildo

Hot day here in the US. This Vesper, made with Beefeater gin, Reyka vodka, and Lillet Blanc will be refreshing as always.

Cheers,

I'm a little hung-over today from the rum. I had my Mojitos last night, two or three of them. Then three glasses of 8 year old barrel-aged rum on the rocks whip watching tv later. They were heavy pours.

Ooh, I was just starting to explore cocktails here when the lockdown came in, and I don't really have the stuff to make many. That said, a dark n stormy was always delicious, as was a white russian. On a summer evening, though? Maybe a daiquiri.

Think I might make a rum drink. Unsure if I have ingredients for anything outstanding so it might be a Caribean version of Rum Punch. Which is usually a couple shots of various rums, a couple shots of OJ and/or pineapple juice, half a shot of lime juice, some simple syrup, grenadine, bitters and nutmeg.

three olives...

...hand-stuffed blue cheese - always an odd number

Cheers,

Made a pretty interesting Margarita last night. Standard reposado tequila, lime and triple sec but also sliced up jalepeno and shook with other ingredients. That shit was pretty goddamn spicy. Also I think the combination killed the Covid bullshit I was coming down with.
