Hi everyone and thank you Sly for telling me about Saturday evening and helping me find this forum.

Just an FYI
Wanted to let y'all know... we're going to be later than planned... the niece's birthday is at about 5:30. Going there first and then coming downtown!
So, most likely will be there about 8-ish. Will everyone still be there?

What Happened???
I am so pissed... I wrote a fairly long post regarding the fact that nobody but BBW, Fulvius, LadyHawk and I showed up for the "get together" at Swanky's this evening. I had taken photos of the four of us to post to the thread but when I tried to submit it with a pic attached, it not only wouldn't let me post the pic, it wiped out the message that I had written...
Gail and I got to Swanky's a little after 5:00, figuring we'd be just a bit "fashionablely" late and there was NO one else there. Sylvia (BBWDenver) and Kevin (Fulvius) came in a short time later. We waited until almost 7:00 and no one else showed up. Very disappointing. And Lit. won't even let me post the pics of those of us who did show up.
Barkley, you especially are in BIG trouble... This was originally your idea and then you didn't show up. Cricketbug at least told us she wouldn't be able to be there much before 8:00 but, unfortunately, it started snowing and we really couldn't stay any longer. And I have no idea why nobody else who said they would be there actually came...

Thanks it was nice talkng to you guys too Ful and I stuck around long enough to umm pay our bill and took off...I was really disapointed thought I would get to meet all these great people I talk to but oh well. So how stupid does my pic look?

Get-together
I showed up...it was about 8:30-8:45. Like I said before, we had the niece's birthday tonight and hung around talking to family. We were up off 120th & Wadsworth and came down. We actually made it there, had a drink, and were out by about 9:30.
I REALLY hope we can TRY to do this again?

I'm sorry to hear that not many people showed up. My husband and I would've come but my brother had a big family fiesta night thing at his school last night and I also quit smoking on Friday so I haven't been in any kind of mood to go out and be around people. We would love to come to one though if you guys plan another get together.

Another Meeting
I'm all for setting up another meeting some time in the next month or so. But I also think that if we do commit to a meeting then we ought to give it a pretty high priority and not just shine it on and assume that we'll be the only ones to not show up for one reason or another. It really depresses me to give a party and then not have anyone show up.

Well I know Im new so my opinion wont be much regarded, thats cool, but heres the deal, the way I figure it anyone who was actually interested WOULD have gone saturday, since they didnt I dont think they should be forced to attend by setting some high priority "oh you better come" rule, make a more private event if its only going to be a couple folks, and then have a real party ! then all those who said "oh Ill be there" and werent will have something to brood about missingSlyFox said:
