As always I bow to EL spelling expertise.

I actually Used come in my first stories and got flack aboUt it. So I wrote two stories Using cUm and the are my most widely read--at least viewed--tales. Whatever that means.

I like the coloUr that cUm gives but woUld hesitate to use it in a period piece, I think.

My U obsessed friend has a point,I don't think i'd use cUm if i were writing a period piece. It's for modern day based smut only.

Sub Joe....do you think the crimson hood shows up the nice White cum stains better then? ;)

I also use "come". It just feels more correct to me. Proper English and all that.
Yes, such a proper English person you are.

BTW: Buckingham Palace called, they want you to send Prince Harry back.

Me, too. I dislike seeing the word "cum" in stories. It makes me want to get my editing pencil out and STAB THE AUTHOR correct it.

I feel the same way about other kinds of words, though, like "magick" and "shoppe." I refuse to use them and I hope others will, too. :)

Fie, Kassiana, and what I prithee is wrong with a few faeries and aelven falderol? Likest it notte?

I prefer to come, to me cum doesn't seem right but hey some times I dont feel right but thats a different story.

Perhaps I should have a beer and calm down.

I think come is a verb.

"I want to come."

Cum is a noun.

"His cum shot out on to my stomach."

I could be wrong though.

I agree.

Would add- a man can "cum" (I think that makes it a gerund) but a woman can not. (even if she can squirt or ejaculate or whatever) cum does not = to ejactuale, it equals seman.

so much for equal rights.

a woman can 'cum' if you are being facetious or ironic- like when GIJane said "Suck my dick!" otherwise no. your average porn writer is rarely facetious or ironic. those here are a cut above, however. (was I being facetous or ironic there- you'll never know!)

"Cum" just seems illiterate to me. Trailer trash connotations. Might be all right if that's the story you're writing (Mary Jane and her Stepfather in the Double-wide).

Not like it's an essential verb, any competent writer can avoid using it.

Reminds me of one of the public comments I received ... "Your story was very erotic and made me hard with pre-cum on my cock." I suppose it's a compliment, but the mental image kind of takes away from any enjoyment of the accolade, you know?

cum does not = to ejactuale, it equals seman.

Now, I have no idea what that means. It's like a Wheel of Fortune puzzle. Can I buy a vowel?

I personally avoid using the word as to avoid this problem.

blah, i like it, so i use it. besides, i've heard it often enough in my life my characters would still use it even i didn't want to.

I use magick.

I do it automaticaly, and I like it;)

I think shoppe is cute. So i'd only use it if I wanted that feel.

$0.02

I think that "come" is the more proper and formal use of the word for male ejaculate. "Cum" is a bit slangish, althogh it is pronounced the same way.

What drives me nuts is the word "pre-come." I just hate that term.
