Comments That Make Your Day

Yesterday I got a message that someone had favorited one of my stories. Since that's not a common occurrence I looked them up. They were following a number of authors, but mine was the only one favorited. Made me happy.

Just got two wonderful pieces of feedback:

On my lesbian Christmas romance story, Silver Screens, Silver Bells:

Really enjoyed this: superb dialogue and neat contrivances without ever being trite. I hope you write more in this genre because this was right up there with the best.

And on my recent Breeding the Duchess story, which was a sequel to my Duchess of Lust series (referenced in the comment)

The whole Duchess of lust series was so good I'd have read it even without the incredible sex. I'm excited to potentially get a sequel sometime in the future. You are fantastic, and easily one of my favourite writers on this site.

I really appreciate this one in particular. Although I do enjoy writing sex scenes, it's great that the non-erotic elements still draw people in and allow for the narrative to be enjoyable on its own merits.

This today on my A Good Girl Gone Bad series:

This has to be one the most kinkiest, fetishtistic and erotic story i have ever read. It is a credit to your Emily how you managed the build up and maintained the tension over the last three chapters. Looking forward to the finalé.

This made me happy:
I love the strong, powerful, very sexy, & very dummy* ladies in your stories. As a woman who loves in-control, yet still very feminine women it's a joy to read your writing. It's not always easy to find well written woman characters who aren't just two dimensional aggro channels for an author. ;-)
*I think the commenter meant dommy.

Had a really lovely one today, which I appreciate greatly (and you know who you are thanks so much for reading them :giggle: )

I am truly enjoying this series. The way you handled the discovery that

It is a bit difficult to follow since it is out of order. I'll keep reading, hopefully, all will be revealed.

Your comment never showed up on my latest story. I don't know what happened. You must have been too nice, and Laural didn't buy it being real or something.

A comment on Wheelchair Bound? from @THBGato:
I adored the relationship here. It felt so real, so loving, so full of care. BDSM stories aren't normally my vibe, but I stayed for the love. Great also to see different body types too. Must try and do that more in my own writing.

And a previous comment on the same story:
I started reading because of the interesting title. I finished reading and will re-read because of the good characters, nice imagery, realistic dialogue... A thoroughly enjoyable story.

On one of my ancient offerings, Katrina Thompson, Trouble, only just now rediscovered:

99% of stories here are slight variations on well worn themes. This was one of the 1% that show some real imagination. Greatly appreciated.

I’ve re typed and resubmitted now anyway! Knowing my luck you’ll get two comments now.

This one did really make my day. Don't normally post ones like this, but as the story comments appear to be waging a tug-of-war between people who want to BTB, those who want it to turn into a femdom car crash, those who say you're doing it wrong, and then those who are happily watching the characters evolve, this was pretty welcome.

On Tell Me What You Want, from @Heartfeltman : "The stories of 'oneagainst' feel like three dimensional chess in a land of checkers"

I just found this comment from @intim8 on The Code:
I saw the twist of "the code" coming a mile away, but it didn't diminish the story one bit. The story pulled me along, the prose was smooth as butter, and the sex was gloriously hot without being rote and tropey and full of over the top superlatives.
"Smooth as butter" and 'gloriously hot": thanks! :)

From Laura's Cardinal... Chapter 2:

by Anonymous user on 01/08/2024

Six weeks ago I lost my wife of 55 years. In my 80th year I doubt I will meet a second love, but thank you for a beautiful, hopeful story.

Two nice comments this morning. It's a nice change considering my author panel doesn't seem to be updating for the last week or so, and I'm not getting update emails on this thread.

But moving along:

On Heredity, a sci-fi story that didn't make any waves and has damn few comments. It's a short story with a disguised Adam and Eve creation slant.

I always wondered what was in that primordial soup. I see: dead people. I borrowed the 5 extra stars from the Bear so I could give them to you.

On Following Laura's Footsteps: A two-part comment that predicted the company share price would plummet and the shareholders revolt. 😁
Then Part 2 😁
Yes, it's fiction, a fantasy, and I loved it. I should have made that clear.

PS: I should mention they came from a long term author here that I respect.
