Well, if google ever does become evil I'm screwed, because I just installed google desktop, and it has indexed all the material in my computer. Including my web history showing all Lit visits, and visits to, er, certain other websites. This is all on the laptop owned by my employer, and I'm a home-office person, so it's my home computer also. I know, I know . . .

Here's my question. I'm actually not too worried about that part, but I do want to eliminate Lit stuff from my search results, and maybe from the index eventually. I've entered "http://www.literotica.com" into the "don't search" preference, but still get Lit results. I tried "http://www.literotica.com*" and still get results from lit.

Please don't tell me I need to enter every individual web page within lit, like say this one: https://forum.literotica.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=6. Because that would make the preference useless, and I can hardly believe google is that stupit.

Thanks all,

Roxanne

Uninstall the google thing is your best bet. Or simply delete the history yourself. If that doesn't work, format and stay off lit. Honestly, I don't have much pity for people who are given a computer from work and are afraid that someone at work might find it. Kind of an assumption of risk.

Google Desktop Help and there are tons of other blogs and forums on it as well, it seems.

I'd be more apt to go to that "How do I uninstall Google Desktop?" link if I were you, since the program has major security, privacy and other risks. How do you feel about your boss or coworkers reading your personal email and getting your other personal info? Plus, its only purpose is to serve up and get you to click on more ads.

Just to be clear, I'm not worried about anyone else, boss or otherwise, seeing my stuff. It is essentially my computer, period. I mentioned that stuff for amusement purposes, but it confused the issue. Sorry.

I'm just trying to do is figure out how to use this new tool. thanks,
R

I think there is a setting that shows deleted files, this may be what you are seeing, you should be able to turn off the "view deleted files" option.

OK, I think I figured it out. In the "don't search" preference just enter 'literotica' - not "http://www.literotica.com" or "literotica.com," etc.
