Jussie Smollett NOW wants to sue the city of Chicago!

The 'Empire' star was deeply humiliated after Chicago's police investigation revealed that he himself had orchestrated that racist/homophobic attack on himself back in January of this year - and then, after the case against him was dropped in March, local officials turned-around and announced they were suing him for approximately $500,000 in April to cover the various costs of the investigation implicating him in staging the entire thing!

According to documents just obtained by TMZ, Jussie is now considering filing a lawsuit in response to "the city's conduct underlying the arrest and their conduct thereafter." It's damaged his acting career and has very likely destroyed any chance of his being allowed to speak at the 2020 Democratic Party's national convention (alongside Megan Rapinoe & Colin Kaepernick!)

The 37-year-old actor was initially indicted on 16 felony counts of lying to police over the alleged attack but those charges were later dismissed. However, a special prosecutor is now looking into that dismissal and could even reinstate the charges, much to the fury of Jussie's lawyers, who have stated: "This case has been a travesty of justice and an unprecedented deprivation of Mr. Smollett's constitutional rights, including the presumption of innocence and right to a fair trial. The two Osundairo brother are back in Africa!

Omar Sanchez, writing for YAHOO Entertainment, says that the writers of the Comedy Central show "South Side" will NOT do any jokes about Jussie Smollett on their show! The show's co-creator, Bashir Salahuddin, says the whole thing is just too embarrassing!

Salahuddin was born and raised on Chicago's South Side, which is the setting for the show that’s now in the middle of its first season. The show follows two streetwise employees of a rent-to-own appliance store, Kareme (Kareme Young) and Simon (Sultan Salahuddin, Bashir’s older brother). Both characters live in Englewood and just graduated community college after eight years.

“South Side” isn’t shy about mentioning specific events or people related to Chicago. In episode two, a character talks about how she was romantically linked to early 2000s Chicago Bull Eddy Curry, who she went to Kentwood with. But Jussie Smollett, who still lives in Chicago, is a topic Salahuddin will not touch.

Salahuddin said that while the first season of “South Side” writers room wrapped before the Smollett incident, he is ruling out any mention of him going forward. “There’s nothing funny about it,” he said. “It’s embarrassing.”

Despite her role in dropping all charges against Jussie Smollett, Democratic Party bosses in Chicago have enthusiastically endorsed the re-election bid of Cook County State’s Attorney KIM FOXX - giving a symbolic high five to the Trump-hating Hollywood actor who claimed that he was assaulted on the streets of Chicago, a story that HUMILIATED his city nationwide.

But then, after many hours of investigation, the Chicago Police determined that Smollett’s story was a hoax. The ensuing story sparked a new wave of national ridicule upon the city, upsetting pretty much everybody in Chicago. Not only was the city’s reputation dragged through the mud a second time, but police officers who might have been out working real criminal cases had wasted hours of time on the Smollett case.

And that's when Kim Foxx announced that ALL CHARGES against Jussie were DISMISSED, and he was allowed to leave! There was no admission of guilt. No apology demanded. On his way out of jail he continued to insist that he didn’t make up the story, suggesting once more that crazed MAGA-hat-wearing Nigerians had attacked him, and that the police had failed to uncover the evidence.

Foxx initially refused to offer an explanation after dropping the charges. According to police, she hadn’t even bothered to notify them. Foxx claims that releasing someone who falsely reports a crime, embarrasses the entire city, and wastes hours of police time is NOT worthy of punishment.

And now the Cook County Democratic Party Organization, which includes party bosses from the city & suburbs, has announced that it agrees, and has endorsed Foxx for re-election. All that's left now is for former First Lady Michelle Obama to join with Jussie in campaigning for Kim's re-election!

Well, it's OFFICIAL now - a Chicago judge yesterday named a special prosecutor to look into WHY Illinois state prosecutors abruptly dropped all charges against actor Jussie Smollett accusing him of staging a racist, anti-gay hate-attack against himself.

Cook County Judge Michael Toomin has appointed former U.S. Attorney Dan Webb, raising the very real possibility that new charges against the former "Empire" actor could soon be levied, despite efforts by First Lady Michelle Obama to get Jussie off scot-free after his warm relations with the Obamas, dating back to their time in the White House. Smollett, who is black and gay, continues to insist that the January attack wasn't staged.

Dan Webb told reporters after Friday's hearing that he was heading into the investigation with no preconceived notions about an outcome. "I don't know where this case is going. The facts will take me where I they take me," he said, adding that he couldn't provide a precise timetable but would move the investigation along as quickly as possible.

Webb is arguably Chicago's most high-profile defense attorney of the last few decades and has been tapped five times previously to serve as a special prosecutor. His high-profile clients have included former Illinois Gov. George Ryan. As U.S. attorney in Chicago in the 1980s, he led the prosecution of several dozen corrupt Cook County judges, lawyers and police officers.

After the FOX network said that Jussie Smollett would NOT be returning for the final season of the television show "Empire," there were rumors circulating that the writers were planning to bring him back. But today, the show's producer Brett Mahoney explained how they will instead explain his absence.

It was back in June when "Empire" co-creator Lee Daniels announced that Smollett would NOT be returning to the show, following accusations that the Trump-hating actor had staged a racist and homophobic attack on himself. Jussie has continued to deny to this day that it was staged, insisting that two black Nigerian men wearing MAGA-hats assaulted him on a cold Chicago January night.

At one time, several Democratic Party presidential candidates, including the Speaking of the House, and numerous influential liberal Hollywood celebrities were rushing to the actor's defense and lavishing their love & support upon him... that is, until the Chicago police revealed that the whole thing was one huge lie.

Smollett immediately departed the FOX series with two episodes of season five still remaining, with the show suddenly explaining that his character (Jamal Lyon) had gone on his honeymoon with his husband Kai. Speaking to TVLine about the final season, Brett Mahoney has now clarified that the newlyweds will remain on their honeymoon for the remainder of the show.

"Jamal is taking a sabbatical from the family," says Mahoney. "He doesn’t want to be caught up in Lyon family drama, which is very much in keeping with his point of view last season – that [the family business] should be something that the family moves away from." He then added: "Jamal and Kai have decided to stay in London.”

A public relations firm hired to represent gay, black, Trump-hating Hollywood actor Jussie Smollett says that "every iota" of the actor's story about being attacked by MAGA-hat-wearing black African Trump supporters is TRUE despite the city of Chicago insisting otherwise.

"Every iota of information... Smollett has stated has been fully corroborated," the statement reads in part. But those Democratic Party presidential candidates who initially supported Jussie are no longer doing so. And neither are those Hollywood liberals who also tweeted their support of the Hollywood actor!

"This is MAGA country!" Smollett says his attackers declared as they poured a bleach-like liquid on him and tied a rope around his neck. The ensuing Chicago police investigation quickly found inconsistencies that suggested that Smollett in actuality paid two Nigerian men to attack him. The left desperately wanted to believe Jussie's version of events, but they no longer want to appear to be gullible fools!

Chicago authorities cited GPS evidence, canceled checks, and video recordings as evidence to prove the crime was a hoax perpetuated by Smollett. It is not immediately clear what part of Jussie's original statement was "fully corroborated" by police, as the PR statement asserts.

Jussie's attorneys demand that Chicago's lawsuit against him be tossed!

Jussie Smollett's attorneys have just filed a new motion arguing that the actor should NOT have to pay Chicago $130,000 for a police investigation into what he claimed was a racist and homophobic attack, because he couldn't have known ahead of time how much time and money the department would spend looking into his false allegations.

This latest motion ALSO suggests that it wasn't necessary to spend 1,836 hours of police overtime and "untold hours of non-overtime police work" on the investigation in the first place! According to the motion, the "filing of a police report, in and of itself, does not necessitate a sprawling investigation nor does it, as a practical matter, usually result in an investigation as extensive as the one the CPD chose to undertake in this case." Smollett should NOT be forced to pay because he had no way of knowing if his report would trigger an investigation, it says.

David Erickson, a former state appellate judge who teaches at Chicago Kent College of Law, scoffed at this argument, saying that suggesting Smollett's complaint might not have prompted an investigation was "silly."

"The judge is going to say, 'Are you kidding me?'" he said.

In a case of "life imitates art," just last Saturday the University of Tennessee college football team paid Georgia State's FB team a whopping $950,000 to come up to Neyland Stadium in Knoxville as massive underdogs and then spoil the Volunteers’ home opener - defeating the heavily-favored home-team in a 38-30 humiliating upset!
