Rep. Joshua Rubenfeld (R-Connecticut), a moderate/fiscal conservative, East Coast Republican, was Chairman of the House Sub-Committee for Cabinet Review.
He looked forward to grilling the representative of the Department of Transportation about its federal highway contracts and the need for a federal gasoline tax. Being a firm opponent of "union kickbacks" on highway contracts as well as off waste and fraud in general, not to mention of the federal gasoline tax, Congressman Rubenfeld was determined to uncover any kind of waste that could be cut and make room for a reduction, if not elimination, of the federal gasoline tax.
He had to admit, however, that Ms. Heather Wright was a rather attractive woman, which he found distracting as he tried to focus on the Congressional probe. He kept fantasizing about "probing" her in a different way, especially bent over the desk in his Congressional office, albeit at night with more privacy.
He cleared his head and drank another shot of espresso, before clearing his throat, banging his gavel, and inviting Ms. Wright and the others from the USDOT to take their oaths for official testimony.
