I've really explored this topic because there are some interesting "US involvement" conspiracies out there. I watched all three Zeitgeist films which was a bit of a trip but fun to look into.

Solid advice in all facets of life really.

An interesting observation (involving mostly my parents, but some other too) on conspiracies/hoaxes with a specific timeline. I've noticed even after the "deadline" passes, they still can't let it go or kick the can down the road. Back at Easter I was told how the Jan 6 commission was actually going to root out the election fraud and restore Trump as the rightful President within a few weeks. Apparently, according to the update I solicited, THAT information just hasn't come out yet.

Oh, for sure. I'm always caught off guard by the sheer stupidity of it all that it helps to actually look into what they're consuming to try and understand what the hell is going on.

I can't do it all the time, but I've had the free time and relationships to actually explore it with them. And as I do it, it's helping some of them back out of the suck of it, because the pull is strong.

There's an English former professional football player (soccer if you're American) called David Icke who is now a professional conspiracy theorist.

He believes lots of crazy shit, but the best one has to be that the human race is controlled by a cabal of inter-dimensional alien lizards disguised as humans.

In south puget sound WA there is a whole cult of people who worship an alien space mystic names Ramtha and they all believe in the whole inter dimensional alien space lizards disguised as humans and who have apparently infiltrated all levels of our government.

HAARP is an interesting case. It's a research facility in Alaska, studying the ionosphere.

At least, that's what I believe it to be. Do I actually know? No. I know a little bit about the ionosphere, but I don't have the knowledge to form an informed opinion on whether HAARP is really studying it.

And the US military did conduct experiments in controlling the weather, during the 1960s if I recall. Cloud seeding, I think.

So I wonder...does anyone here actually know for sure what HAARP is? If so, how do you know?

This is actually really interesting to me. When it comes to something like HAARP, yep, I really have no idea if that is what it is actually doing. At the same time, I have no problem believing that it's just a research facility studying the ionosphere.

What makes you (the general you, not you) make the jump to something nefarious or ridiculous. I get it with something unexplained, but it's perfectly reasonable that it's a research facility, why does anyone's brain jump to controlling the weather and our minds from Alaska?

I have a neighbour who is so deep down the QAnon conspiracy theory, it's a wonder he can function in life.

He has tried to engage me with conversation about it and to persuade me that even in the UK, military are engaged in firefights underground with child sex traffickers who are torturing and eating kids.
