“I will promise that I will be okay, sweetheart!” I said impatiently hoping that my worrisome fiancee, Max, would get off the line so that I could go do my job. He was worried considering I was a vampire slayer. Family tradition. My great great grandfather started the tradition when he was forced to have to destroy his own wife, who had been turned. It was my turn to carry on the tradition.
Vampirism had became so prevalent that I was recruited to a special government group to aid in getting rid of the vampire population. This was to be my 15th hunt. I managed to slay 20 vampires. This next hunt was to be the big one considering I was dealing with a 700 year old vampire. Most of the vampires I killed ranged from the ages of 50 to 300 years old. This one was going to be more cunning and clever. I was up for a challenge. He was responsible for the disappearances of two of our operatives, Agent Billy Morrison and Agent Daniel Forbes. Both were sent on separate occasions to investigate the Count. I was to infiltrate the house to search for them.
According to what was in the file, he was born in Transylvania, he was turned after nearly dying from a stab wound inflicted by the husband of a lover. As the story went a woman came to him offering him immortality and promising him all the pleasures that he wanted. Of course, he took the offer. Since then he had been going from country to country terrorizing the good people. His last known location was outside of Los Angeles in the 70’s.
I had temporarily stopped at a diner to get directions, eat, and to call my boyfriend. It turned out that I was not as far as what I originally thought. The mansion was down the road. My plan was simple. I was to play damsel in distress and when he let his guard down let him have it with my retractable stake I made (It made it easier to hide) as well as handgun with silver bullets. They stopped other things besides werewolves.
Showtime… I stopped about a few miles from the path to the mansion. With my expertise in cars, I made it look like something came loose so that the car would appear to be broke down. I faked some tears to make it look like I had been crying. My phone was not working which made it even more convincing.
I began walking up the path to the house sobbing hysterically. It took me about 10 minutes to get there. I was a pretty good actress when it came to crying. When I got to the door, I began knocking. I could hear footsteps coming to the door.
