Covid kittens

Ginger tabbies are not torties. Your vet must be a bit of a twat. Male torts are very very rare and usually sterile.

It's a terminology issue.

You evidently believe that calico, tri-color, and tortoiseshell are all the same. I, OTOH, believe that tortoiseshell tabby is a coat pattern.

That's exactly the opposite of what I said.

I've had seventeen cats and worked at the Cats Protection League, I know what I'm talking about.

People also ask
Is my cat calico or tortoiseshell?

Because calico cats have the same black and orange color as a tortoiseshell cat - but with white, too! This is the main difference between a calico cat and a tortoiseshell cat. Even a cat with mottled tortoiseshell patches will be considered a calico if she has significant amounts of white in her coloring.Jan 21, 2020

I'm not saying you don't.

What I'm saying is that the words you use aren't the words I use.

FWIW, Catster has an article on the 5 different coat patterns. Following that article's illustrations, Ginger, Leah, and Smiley are "marbled".

That, however, is not what I grew up calling that coat pattern. Thus, this is a terminology issue.

Meh whatever Trevor. But good on ya for the neutering and care. đź‘Ť

Seriously, send the ginger. Will PM you my address.

How does this card game work?

Came home tonight and beneath the hedge behind my house, the grey feral cat appears to have delivered quite a number of new kittens, all of them squeaking. Can't get close enough to get a picture without mama cat promising death and dismemberment

In a week or so she'll start leaving them for longer periods of time. Sneak over while she's gone and handle them. You can get one of those nursing bottles and use evaporated milk to feed them. Don't use the enfamil crap, it clogs the nipple and you'll squeeze the bottle to force it out and drown them when you fill their lungs with it. Evaporated milk is the ticket.

Mama cat won't have to work so hard to raise them and you'll get kittens out of the deal. You might even get mama cat to accept you if you feed her directly. We did that 20 years ago with a fully feral cat who got trapped in a barn stall with her kittens. We gave the kittens away and kept mama cat when the owner of the barn sold the property.

Ginger would disagree with you. So would the vet who neutered him.

The one on the left is Ginger. The one on the right is Smiley - also a male Torti from the same mom, different litter. He's the 4th kitten I was able to rescue. He's been neutered too.

I am glad you reminded me of this thread. These cats look like my Oscar. We call it a cinnamon bun swirl on his side.

Their eyes are starting to open. Mama is still as over protective as all get out.

Ok, now have pics of all their faces. The 2 "things" in a prior pic and now a pic of Domino's face and that red haired kid.

That red haired kid is adorable.

"Adorable"?

The kid is a redneck in training. His coat pattern even looks like he's wearing one of those white "wifebeater" T shirts. The next thing you know he'll be swilling it down and passing out on the floor... oh wait...

3 weeks yesterday. They're up on their wobbly little legs and starting to explore and wrestle with each other.

Ohhhhhh. So cute. They look fluffy.

They're bigger than the palm of my hand now but they still don't weigh much yet. Over the next week that will start to change. They'll get more energetic and start to grow and pack on the ounces.

Mama isn't as nasty as she used to be. She's getting more used to having her litter box cleaned and the kittens handled. She still snarls and growls but she isn't attacking anymore. She's still never going to domesticate but at least I'm not risking life and limb to put food and water in the cage.

You lucky fuck...to be around such cuteness. I envy you. :(

Hey, the cat boxes need cleaning and food bowls need refilling. I won't mind if you come over and spend some quality cuteness time while doing a few necessary chores.

There will, however, be a full strip security check prior to you exiting the premises to ensure that all that cuteness remains behind.
