When I was a young adult I would fall in love at the drop of a hat. Every failed relationship was the end of the world but the next thing you knew I was off with someone else…

Three of my young adult children are in stable long term relationships, all with good partners, except for my oldest. His longest term relationship has been about nine months and it’s driving me crazy!

I remember my parents getting to know some of my more-or-less significant others and being all sad when they wouldn’t come around after we broke up… now I understand how they felt.

My oldest son just broke up with a really sweet and cute trans-girl. We’d met her last time we visited my son, she was happy that her boyfriend’s family would embrace her… She’d been disowned by her family years ago and hanging out with my son was the first time she’d felt like she had extended family in her adult life.

Oh well.

The guitar tone in that song is incredible. I’m not certain but is sounds like a Stratocaster through a Mesa Boogie three-stage preamp on the verge of breaking up. Add some spring-reverb, some digital delay, perfect fingering and voila! I’ve never been able to play that cleanly.
