The following ideas are to be used in the "Story Feedback" section...

1) Post "Looking for a Story" and describe it in details. After a while make sure that everyone knows it was one of yours and you had lost it! Keep bouncing your story up to the top with apologies and thanks to all who helped.

2) Post "I got paid. Here's my story". Since people are more likely to vote high for someone they know made it, this is an excellent ploy. Make sure there is no connection between getting paid (from your 9-5) employer and your Lit' story.

3) Post "The Damn trolls brought me down to a 4.9 - So Depressing" Make sure the content reveals how deflated you feel that out of the almost perfect 5 you got, some troll gave you a 4. If you phrase it right, you can have people rushing to help you.

Anyone out their have any other ideas? If so post 'em...

Being disingenuous is likely to piss people off, no matter how creative you're being. Perhaps you're being somewhat "tongue in cheek."

How could someone lose their own story...

A sure way to get branded as an attention whore and likely a liar too.

Since anyone can see your score, you'll just get branded a liar again. Without an H next to the story, who wouldn't see it right away.

I'd say writers would be better off just starting a thread for each story they posted and asking for constructive feedback, then taking the criticism in a positive way and using it to improve their writing.

Don't take the guy serious, he's just, well... goofy.

Yep. I figured that. Not everyone would though. I did say he was probably being "tongue in cheek" or something like that.

I'm proud of my inner attention whore. She's very honest.

Ok I'll have to admit that I'm a guy whore and also a liar.

If I can interject a few doses of humor to a small number of people driven to find a bit of sex surrounded by a whole lot of warped ideas I will have found my audience.

If my stuff helps a person laugh a bit, it was worth not only the writing but all the whoring I had to do to get you to read it.

Don't be so uptight.

I did get a chuckle Fred. :D

And I was grateful for it. ;)

You yanked my chain

And I yanked yours

Truce? :rose:

Why is he seen as being goofy? A variation of everything he mentioned is used to push stories in the Story Feedback forum. The only one he seems to have left out is the "my story is great but it isn't being read/appreciated. Please tell me why. And then argue with anyone who tells him/her why" variation.

Yeah, you forgot that one.

oh and the "I'm a really cute, nubile college co-ed living in California and I just wrote my very first erotic story, and I was wondering if anyone would look at it and tell me if you'd like to do any of those things with me?" version...

Best one yet and if you add a word or two about being a virgin and how you are thinking of dumping your boyfirend, you would get the highest score ever!

Excellent stuff!
