Stygian guided her in the pace he liked and soon Red was doing it on her own and he was able to lie back a little and concentrate on meeting her downward thrusts with a slight upward thrust of his hips.

He was happy when he started to hear the moans of pleasure start to escape her mouth. Now he knew that it was not just him that was getting pleasure from this experience, but she too was experiencing it. It may be a male ego thing, but he still wanted to know that he could please the woman above him.

His ego was further inflated by the words that slipped out of her mouth. Admittedly she did not have any others to compare it too, but still it made him feel good. He reached up and began to massage her breasts and nipples as she moved above him, adding another pleasurable sensation to what she was already feeling.

"All the better to give you lot's of pleasure my dear," he smiled as he began to pant as he felt the beginnings of his orgasm approaching.

Beads of sweat began to form on Red's forehead as she continued grinding her hips against the wolf's. Part of her wanted to stop, wanted to get off before she became truly insane by the lust. But as she slowed down just a little, the wolf would snap her back to attention by thrusting his hips up against hers, forcing his cock in and out.

His hands on her breasts did not do much to help alleviate the situation except to make her lust spike in to overdrive. Her sexual drive urged her to keep going, craving the attention. Red sped up the pace a little, bouncing up and down while the wolf's cock was slick of her juices. The same feeling of being pushed over the edge returned.

Before she could protest that she couldn't take it anymore, she found her moans growing louder. The sound was something that was almost unfamiliar to her; resembling either a mad person desperate to escape or something more animalistic, all mixed in pure lust.

Red felt a sudden rush shot down her body. From a glance, she finally caught a glimpse of how much had been dripping down her legs.

Stygian was very close to orgasm and he could feel that Red was as well by the way her pussy was clutching his cock and the amount of juices that were leaking from her. Of course he didn't think she would know what was going on and he wanted her to definitely experience her first orgasm by his hand so to speak.

Then he had an idea. Slipping one hand down between their sweaty bodies to where they were joined, he found her pussy and with his thumb he quickly found her small nub of pleasure. It was not hard to do as it was so swollen and poking out. He latched onto it and allowed the motion of their lovemaking to work his thumb over it. He hoped this pushed her over the edge quickly as he was not going to last too much longer and for some reason her pleasure meant a lot to him.

Again, the wolf was pushing Red ever so close to the edge. She needed to get off before she crashed head on in to this madness. Her pussy clenched around his thick shaft with her juices still dripping down. Heavy panting intertwined with the erotic moans whose echoes bounced off the rock walls. The smell of sweat and her own juices was strange at first but stirred the lust inside of her.

"What's happening to..."

But she had no chance of finishing that question about what was going on with her when his thumb found the nub above her pussy and began to rub it along with each thrust. Damn him, instead of alleviating the situation even a little bit, he only made it much worse, sending her sanity tumbling down. She reached out and gripped his shoulders for support as this madness was about to make her collapse.

"I don't know if I can take it anymore," she said in between breaths. "I'm...my body..."

She was at a loss for words. How in the world was she supposed to explain this strange feeling rumbling inside of her.

Ahh she was indeed about to orgasm but she thought there was something wrong with her. She didn't know that it was actually pleasure she was feeling and if she let herself go she would actually experience something wondrous.

"It is fine Red," He told her leaning upwards and gently kissing her before laying back down again and continuing to thrust up hard." Your body is just trying to tell you to let go and enjoy yourself. I promise you nothing bad will happen. Just relax and let yourself go and feel everything your body is telling you to feel. Experience everything and believe me you might even want to do this again," he chuckled as he thrust even harder into her and ground down more onto her nub.

Knowing she was so close was helping him keep his own orgasm at bay, however he was pretty sure that once her own started he was going to be right behind her.

"Just relax and let yourself go..."

Red knew if she released the last strings that had her dangle between logic and lust and fell in to the latter, she wouldn't be able to be in control of herself. But she felt his cock thrusting harder inside of her, further feeding in to that insanity. Closing her eyes, her body started to relax as she plunged further down from her instincts as a hunter to a woman desperate to feel needed. No longer did her fingernails dug in to the wolf's flesh but lightly gripped on to them.

Panting in between moans that only got louder, she felt a huge wave wash over her, much more violent than the previous ones. It was nothing like she felt before as her muscles clenched and let loose another load of juices on top of him.

Stygian felt her body relax more and her movements became more natural. Her moans became louder as he was able to thrust even deeper inside of her and his own joined hers as he tried harder to contain himself.

Then she spasmed all around his thrusting member, squeezing and massaging it in so many ways as she gushed another load of juices all over him. It was far to much for him and clutching her hips he grunted as he buried himself deep inside of her and released his seed in hard spurts, coating the walls of her pussy with his sperm and mixing their juices together.

Not long after Red felt her release let loose, she felt something warm shoot inside of her. Panting, her tired self adjusted, releasing his member from between her legs before she laid beside him, her body sprawled on top of his. Her inner thighs were coated with their juices.

It took her a while before her mind settled down, taking in what just took place. Did it really happen? Despite still seeing the wolf as her natural enemy no matter which form he took on, she couldn't help but feel a bit of intrigue towards him. Not by much but at least the urge to take advantage and kill him in his exposed state didn't rise.

Stretching out her arm, Red draped it over his shoulder, tired after their little fun.

Stygian panted, as he lay back, eyes closed and relishing in the afterglow of finally having done something like that with somebody he had wanted to. He felt Red slump down next to him and then cuddle in and throw an arm over him and his pulse quickened even more.

She was not getting up and leaving, She was staying beside him. He couldn't describe the feeling that came over him then as he had no word for it. Nothing like this had ever happened to him before. He knew he should take advantage of the situation and turn on her and rip her throat out, and indeed he did turn towards her. He threw his own arm over her and pulled her in tight against him, snuggling her in tight against his warmth so she did not get cold.

He could kill her some other time...Maybe.

Red didn't protest as the wolf pulled her close, slightly scraping her body along the way. She curled her fingers along his chest , raising her head only enough for him to see her eyes. While she felt relief the ordeal was over, a small part of her wanted to experience it all over agan.

Either way, they were both damned for it now. Red can only hope that the hunter never finds out about tonight.

She nuzzled her head on the wolf's chest, trying to fight off the sleep. There was much that needed to be done, stategies, a plan to find her mentor. Her eyelids grew heavy as she pondered on her next strategy.

"You think there's...a...nearby town?" She sleepily asked.

Stygian brought his hand up and started to stroke her hair as he too fought of sleep. He wondered what to do next but really he did not care at the moment. For the first time in his life he felt warm and content and he did not want anything to disturb them. As far as he was concerned the rest of the world could disappear as long as they were left alone.

Still after her comment he knew she was still thinking about her mentor. Sighing he thought about the path ahead and nodded. "Once we are through the pass there is a small village a short distance away. We can resupply there and maybe get a few horses. After that we travel to the city several days distant. We could avoid it but it would be best to find out the latest rumors and see if I am right about where they have taken your Mentor."

Yawning he continued to stroke her hair as his eyelids grew heavier. "Sleep now, we will leave in the morning," he told her then kissed her on the head.

Strange, Red shouldn't be feeling this comfortable snuggling up against an adversary. The hunter side of her would have been screaming and brandishing her blade until he was cut up in to perfect slices of meat for the creatures to feast on. She adjusted her hold around him to keep her arm from falling asleep. The nagging quieted as he stroked her hair.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Red wasn't obligated to be loving towards him. Like him, if they could at least tolerate one another, they will be able to stall their own inevitable battle towards each other.

She nuzzled her head against the wolf's chest. The sounds of his heartbeat slowly lulled her to sleep. There will be more than enough time to figure out how they will deal with each other once her mission was over. For now, she'll revel in this rare comfort.

Deeper her mind drifted in to sleep when Red found herself in what appeared to be an abandoned cabin. Through the dimmed lit oil lamps, she saw the hunter slumped. Still, she couldn't help but smile a little; his wry greeting on how she found him while she remained unscathed assured her that he was still his old self.

As Red approached closer to her hunter to get a look at his bruises and cuts, he chuckled.

Did you check for traps, Red?"

She had no time to react. From the darkness, the hunter was ambushed. Red immediately withdrew her scythe, ready for a fight when his attackers held a blade to his neck. His attackers grabbed a tight hold of Red. Through the struggle, everything was happening in a blur.

An animalistic scream pierced through the cabin as the attacker began to slowly slice the hunter's neck. No matter how much she tried to fight them off, Red couldn't get closer to stop the beheading.

Meanwhile, Red's fingers gripped tight to the wolf's flesh. Though soft, she was unaware of just how much the noises in her sleep were enough to make anyone stir.

Stygian felt something burning on his chest then awoke to sounds of pain and crying. Looking down he realized the burning sensation was Red's hand clutching at his skin again and again, pulling at the hair on his chest in her sleep. The look on her face was a mixture of pain, horror and strangely determination as she whimpered and thrashed a little in his arms.

Stygian knew she was dreaming, but what she was dreaming about he could not guess. He had seen members of his pack dream of hunting before and their legs would move as if they were running and their jaws would snap at invisible prey, but this was definitely not like that. Red's dream did not look like a happy one.

He didn't know what to do. Should he wake her up or let her sleep? He didn't want her to suffer anymore but would waking her up really stop it?

Whoa, hold on. What did he mean he didn't want her to suffer.

It was true. He didn't want her to suffer anymore. Damn he could never let her find this out or she would definitely use it against him. Still that wasn't the issue here. Looking at her he finally came to a decision. With tears in his eyes he slapped her across the face hard enough that he thought it would wake her.

"Wake up Hunter. I don't enjoy having my pelt pulled off even in human form."

He had to keep up the charade of not liking her a lot or she would suspect something.

The slap was enough to jolt Red awake. Reeling from the pain, it took her a few seconds for her sleepy mind to register the basics of what happened: The wolf smacked her, her face was stinging, and in no time flat, the wolf was bound to go in for the kill in her sleep.

Immediately, her hands shot out, squeezing his neck as hard as she could. Cranky turned in to anger as her focus was to pop his damned head off.

So this is how it's going to be, huh dear wolf? It seems that Red will have to sleep with one eye open in case he thought of going for her jugular.

Soon enough, the fierce expression melted in to a defeated, tired look. She rolled over with her back towards him. He may have coerced her to sleeping in his arms and maybe she got a little too comfortable with it, but she wasn't about to be fooled again by being tricked to reveal what was the cause of her nightmares.

"Too tired to deal with this right now." She let out a yawn. "We'll settle this later."

He had been surprised at her reaction and at just how strong her grip had been. He could have probably pried her hands off, but it would have been a hard won victory.

This time he did nothing and just lay there and let her strangle him. His face was turning purple when she finally let him go. He gulped down huge mouthfuls of air and sat up looking at her. She had already turned her back to him and he knew his throat would be in no condition to form words for at least an hour while it healed. By then the scars and hair she had ripped up on his chest would also be healed and he would have no proof as to why he had hit her.

Sighing he threw his hands up in disgust and rolled away from her. He grabbed his shirt and pulled it over his head and then found a small blanket. He wrapped it around himself and moved as far away from her as the cave would allow and curled himself up into a ball to sleep.

If she wanted to think the worst of him so be it. He would play the villain yet again and hope that he did not have to count on her to save his life any time soon.

When all was quiet and still, Red dared to steal a glance at the wolf who was now at a distance much farther away than where they were earlier. A small part of her wanted to ask what happened; why did he hit her, than get mad because she got mad? That small part couldn't help but ache a little for losing that comfort that she was starting to get used to.

Her huntress instincts told her womanly side to shut up, convincing it that the wolf was showing his true nature. It was a good thing her instincts kicked in. If she got too comfortable, the wolf would have seized the opportunity and kill her.

But even in her sleepy stupor did she notice something bizarre. While she strangled the wolf, Red noticed that he didn't fight back, not even to pry her fingers away from his neck. That in itself was strange, especially for someone with his caliber.

She turned her head towards him once more, hoping he wouldn't notice. The woman inside of her was confused and guilty for what she may have done. Meanwhile, the two personas were at odds wth one another on whether he was a murderer or just a complete misunderstanding on both their ends. He wouldn't understand what it's like for two personas to be at odds, unable to reach a compromise. He wouldn't understand what it's like to watch the slow torture of a comrade disemboweled before him. At least if it's a quick chop, it would end fast and the hunter would be in no lasting pain.

Still, it felt a bit empty not having his brooding figure to cuddle up against and be held. Going back to sleep after that wake up slap would be quite difficult. Instead, she stared at the dying embers near the campfire.

Damn it Red, what the hell are you thinking?

Stygian watched Red like she was prey. She probably thought he was fast asleep, but he had positioned himself so his eyes would not reflect the fire light and he squinted through tiny slits to further reduce the chance.

To him her form was easily seen and he watched her look at him as if to reassure herself that he was safely away from her. Oh yes he would stay away from her now. She had proven she could not be trusted and that at the slightest provocation she would revert to her true persona. That of the Hunter.

How could he have ever thought he could get close to one of her ilk. The same beings that trapped, tortured and killed his kind just because they were different. Had she ever seen whole packs put to the sword and flame. Howling as their fur and flesh burnt while Hunters stood in the entrance to the lair with shields, traps and long spears, laughing as they pushed them back into the flames.

They called them beasts then committed acts like that and wondered why they resorted to the same tactics. The packs had not started the war but they would finish it and with her and her master they would have freed another territory from the Hunters grasp.

Still he remembered the way her body had felt below him and the way she had tasted on his lips. Even how she had felt when she had been lying beside him snuggled in his arms afterwards.

Forgot it. She was a Hunter and he knew what he must do.

When Red assumed the wolf was asleep, she feigned sleep, keeping her back towards him. Grabbing a nearby twig, she poked at the dying embers in hopes of rekindling the fire. When that failed, she tossed the stick inside the pit. No use pondering about it now. Now that the wolf showed his true colors, she would have to get back to the routine of sleeping with one eye open in case he had that tingling urge to eat her.

It took quite some time for Red to drift off to sleep.

It would be hours until Red stirred, waking up in the dark. With the fire gone and being deep inside the cave, there wasn't much she could see. Well, this was going to be annoying. Red dragged her feet until it hit her burlap sack. Maybe there was a stray matchstick somewhere deep in the meager supplies of cloth, weapons and money.

Before she could find a matchstick, the sounds of scratching on the rocky walls echoed throughout the cave.

Stygian had slept lightly, wondering if Red was once again going to wake up and attack him. Actually he was pretty sure she wasn't but he couldn't be too sure in her present state of mind, so it was easy just to revert to the predators natural way of sleeping in hostile territory.

The body got rest but the mind remained half active. In this way necessary aches and pains of the day could be rested away, but the mind remained alert to any dangers to the sleeping body. A person could not keep this state up for long, 2 or 3 days at maximum before they had to sleep deeply for a long time to let their mind rest or risk burning out. Still werewolves were masters at it, there natural predator instincts helping them.

He had been awoken early by the sounds of claws searching for purchase on stone and his eyes opened slowly. Crawling on all fours he searched the cave in a slow circle, his eyes glowing a faint yellow in the last glow of the embers. Spotting nothing he crouched up and headed for the small crevice and peered down it. He could see maybe three feet but beyond that was pure darkness. Listening carefully he could hear the sounds of several sets of claws coming from it as they slowly made their way towards them.

Glancing back to Red he debated about waking her up, then shook his head. No she would be a liability. She couldn't see in these conditions and he would like to keep it this dark if possible.

He snuck back to his corner and retrieved his sword and waited by the entrance again. After awhile the sounds got louder and he heard Red start to stir. Finally something poked it's head into the cave and he saw that it was nothing natural. A quick swipe and it's head was loped off and he grabbed it's body and yanked it forward clearing the way. He didn't want whatever was following to think anything was wrong and get cautious. Luckily he didn't hear whatever it was pause and he readied himself for another blow as it's head appeared.

Down came his sword but at the last second something happened. The head swerved and he received a blow to his stomach that sent him reeling back. As he recovered he finally got a look at what he had aimed at. Damn what he had thought where claw's scratching on the walls where actually scales. A snake woman uncoiled herself from the crevice and looked at him. Luckily it was only a juvenile and only 8 ft long with glowing yellow eyes like his own, a rather pretty young girls face and the upper half of a human girl including her chest and arms. However starting at the navel she started to grow a snake tail. This one had the markings of a Cave viper, perfect for searching this area. She was carrying a short sword and her face lit up in a grin as a tongue like a snakes flickered out of her mouth.

"Oh the Queen isss going to love what I have found. Two more playthingsss for her collection. I will be well rewarded and ssseeing asss you have already killed my sssibling I won't even have to ssshare." Her smile grew wider as she pointed her sword at them both. "Now you could both sssurrender, but wheresss the fun in that, ssso pleassse tell me you are going to fight."

No luck in finding that bundle of matchsticks in her sack. Have they used it all or did it fall upon their journey? Red was kicking herself for not thinking this through. They were deep in the caves, the fire was long out, and she foolishly didn't think about lighting up a new fire or having supplies nearby to make a makeshift torch. Surrounded by darkness and with the tensions between her and the wolf as strained as it would be, she would have to wander about blindly.

Searching about, her fingers were pricked by something sharp. Wincing a little, she patted the ground and realized it was her scythe. Well, that's one less thing to worry about.

Retrieving her weapon, the scratching noises continued to disrupt their surroundings. What startled Red even more was that she heard a female speak with a peculiar accent.

A snake? Red wondered. The realization that this may be the creature the Hunter spoke of in passing before he left jolted her completely out of slumber. With each cautious step, she followed the voice. Without any source of light, and being the only one unable to see in pure darkness, she could only wonder.

As the voices grew louder, no light was needed to feel a presence near. Though unaware of the sword pointed at the both of them, Red can easily feel the tension hovering over them.

All she can do now is grip her scythe a little tight.

Stygian knew he was in trouble. These things hunted in tunnels and caves and while he may be able to see in the dark, these things practically lived in it when they hunted. He needed Red's help but for that to happen they needed light and fast.

There was a small stockpile of dry tinder and wood near the fire and he wondered why she had not used that, then realized she would probably not have been able to see it. Damn he would have to risk turning his back on the snake if this was going to work.

He took off, fast using all of the speed his wolf could provide him and was at the fire in the blink of an eye. He threw on the kindling and stirred it up, The last few remaining hot coals caught it and leaped hungrily to life and consumed the wood, and soon there was a small fire going. He managed to put one significant log on before the Tail of the snake woman swept out and caught him a powerful blow and sent him flying into the cave wall.

Stygian lay there, he was sure several ribs were broken and they needed time to set themselves again. Looking back though he was pleased to see a warm glow taking hold that was illuminating the cave. Hah now your in for it. He chuckled and winced as the bones inside of him ground together as they began to move back to there original positions.

The caves lit up just in time for Red to see the wolf flying back at top speed and slammed on to the rocky walls. From the corner of her eye, she saw something come straight for her from the right. Red jumped, barely dodging the tail of the snake.

"Oh yessss," the snake hissed. Eyeing her unbuttoned top and nearly exposed chest, she used the tip of her sword to pop off the rest of the buttons one by one until Red's soft, supple breasts were exposed. "The queen issss esssspecially gonna love you."

As the snake popped off the last button, the blade nicked at Red's flesh, sending blood oozing out of the open wound. Red kept her gaze at the snake, plotting on how to take on such a creature that has been spoken little of in folktale. A small part of her wanted to take a glance at the wolf's direction to make sure he's still alive

"Whoopssss," her lips curled in to a grin. "The queen isssn't going to like thissss. But I'm sure sshe won't noticcce the mark."

Patience wore thin as the snake toyed with Red. With the girl's beastly ally out of the way, the only thing the girl had was a bulky, useless scythe.

Annoyed at the snake's mind games, Red brought up her weapon. In one quick swoop, she brought down the blade on to the snake's face. The snake reeled back, dodging both attempts.

"Not bad," she hissed, sticking her fork tongue out at Red. "Sssoft, ssspringy, the queen likessss'em feisssssty and---"

But as the snake spoke, droplets of what tasted like copper dripped on to her tongue. Confusion turned in to dread. Her fingers reached up to where Red tried to take a swipe at her. Her nails found an uneven bump on her cheekbone, tracing the diagonal line all the way down to the corner of her lip; her face with the new scar resembled an exaggerated smile. Furious at the disfigurement this stupid mortal had given her, the snake screamed.

"YOU SSSTUPID BITCH!!"

The snake brought down the her sword, aiming for Red's neck. Red used her scythe to block her attack. The two waltzed about deeper in to the cave. Red continued to use her weapon to defend herself, trying to find an opening to go in for the kill. However, the snake's reflexes and agility have a slight advantage over Red's own as the creature slithered after her.

The snake flicked her tail, aiming for Red. As earlier, Red jumped out of the way before it got to her. Instead, that tail coiled around Red's ankle in mid-air, slamming her on her back near the campfire. Dazed and groaning from the pain in her shoulder. Red reached for the handle of her scythe when the snake pinned Red's shoulders down, causing the pain to shoot up. The snake managed to find the exact spot her shoulder landed and used the opportunity to squeeze it, sending a discomforting pain.

"You ssstupid bitch! Look what you did to me! LOOK!" she screamed, referring to her wound. "Forget it, I'm not taking you to the queen. Inssssstead, you, my dear, are mine!"

Her fangs revealed, the snake darted its head towards her.

With her weapon out of reach and her shoulders pinned, Red grabbed the closest thing her hand could reach for. Her hand scooped up some of the log's burning remains, throwing it directly at the snake's eyes.

The snake screamed and thrashed blindly about, releasing her hold on Red. Her tail flailed in all directions, nearly striking Red, then the wolf, before it made contact with the campfire.

Stygian had been hard pressed not to leap back into the fight but he knew it would be useless. He was too injured and would be of no help. It was better for both of them if he remained were he was, letting them both think he was out of the fight, and heal.

He was almost done when the Snake woman went wild and attacked Red with a fury. He had thought her reasonably safe as long as the creature wanted to capture her for her Queen, but now all bets were off. Red had marred her face and she wanted revenge.

He rolled up from the floor and winced. The bones were back in place but had not yet set and what he was about to do would not help any. He was going to probably re injure himself, but he could not just standby and let her be killed. Calling up the wolf inside him he allowed it to come forth and take control.

The change happened quickly as his other half revealed in the control of being let out. Stygian tried to keep a tight reign on him, but after being cooped up inside of him for so long the wolf was having none of it. He saw why his weaker self had called to him. The giant snake thing was writhing on the ground as the enemy cowered before it.

He had a most delicious choice. Leave the enemy to die and then kill the snake or kill them both. Grinning he chose the latter. After all why would he allow something that slithered along the ground to deprive him of the joy of killing his prey.

He let out a growl and sprang at the snake, landing on it's back and raking it with his claws as he bit down on it's neck. He was rewarded with a scream, but it rolled over swiftly and he was forced to jump less he be crushed. Circling his prey he saw that one of it's eyes had been damaged and it was swollen shut. Letting out a growl he feinted for that side then cut back and swiped at her belly as he ran past leaving a large gouge in her scales that oozed blood.

Growling in frustration he avoided her tail as it came lashing at him. That strike had been aimed at her human torso. She was not as dumb as she looked, however she had forgotten something, he was not alone. He may not like his enemy, in fact he was going to kill it very soon, but it had it's uses. He saw it rise up behind the snake and gather up it's claw.

Growling to claim the things attention he darted in and out feinting attacks making sure it never took it's attention off of him. Maybe after this he might even let her live. For a few minutes.

The remains of the log did not leave her left unscathed, letting Red feel its burn on the palm of her hand. Rolling out of the way before the snake's tail could come down on her, she grabbed her scythe and got to her feet. Red sucked in her breath at the pain as she watched the two creatures fight each other. Her eyes adjusted to the dark for a moment, trying to see what exactly the snake was fighting off.

Through the blur, she saw the second creature glance at her with its yellow eyes. The scar that marred the side of his face was an all too familiar creature.

The wolf!

Red's nerves jumped, wondering if this was going to turn in to a situation where it would end up being a 2 vs. 1 battle; the wolf and the snake hybrid against her. Even with her skills, she had her own doubts on whether she would live long enough to get out of the caves in one piece. How she hated the wolf, indeed. With the way things have been the last several hours, the creature was even more unstable than his human persona.

The snake continued to flail, trying to fight off the wolf's attacks. It had been inconsolable ever since Red threw ash at her eyes. Occasionally it would swipe at random directions, one of them managing to shred Red's dress from the shoulder to torso, leaving it hanging in tatters and her left breast exposed.

The wolf managed to take down the snake hard, leaving her wounded body sprawled. Cautiously, Red approached the snake, making certain the creature was nearly dead. With her scythe, she stabbed the snake's belly button and in one swift motion, sliced its upper body all the way to the head. Blood and entrails spilled in a heap, forming a a puddle beneath her boots. Beheading it would have been much cleaner but her experience with snakes was not always pleasant as their heads would still be alive for hours.

Red stepped away from the carcass, wiping the sweat from her forehead. As she collected her breath, she looked up at the wolf. She waited, anticipating what his next move will be as he approached closer to his prey.

"I suppose I should thank you." She said with a certain reluctance. Her duty as a hunter would have considered such gestures to their enemy as something shameful in the eyes of their peers and themselves.

Meanwhile, her human side, the young woman side of her who was mistakenly exposed in last night's affair, was a bit fearful of the wolf turning on her now that they were alone. Childhood memories flowed back to the night they encountered; how he almost killed her and the nightmares that plagued her for years until she was able to cope with them. She couldn't help but smile a little on the inside of her tense body; the physique was still there along with the additional fur, claws, and razor sharp teeth. Still, why did she find his demeanor curiously intriguing?

The wolf looked at his enemy and began to stalk her. The snake lady was dead, killed by it's enemy after it had injured it enough. Why it had done that was strange, and why he had done that was even more puzzling. He shook his head to rid itse;f of such thoughts and growled at it's enemy again.

She was the source of this confusion. He should be killing her not saving her, yet he had and even now he was studying her and not going for her throat. She had even thanked him. Him who had tried to kill her as a babe and had hunted her for all his life. She...Had...Thanked...HIM.

He looked deep into her eyes and saw fear, but not the fear he was used to. Instead of the terror and panic of frightened prey he saw controlled fear, but also curiosity and longing?

He backed away towards the snake woman's body and growled as he lowered his snout into her belly and began to eat. When had his prey learned not to fear him? What had his frail side done with her that had changed her so much. He could not hunt her like this, it was too confusing. He needed time to think, to plan. He would sit back and observe, let his human side think it had won and then his prey would be his and would once again know true terror before he killed it.

He ate his fill then backed off into a corner and lay down slowly allowing itself to calm down and rest. He backed off and let the frail one back in, turning over control again, but this time he would stick to his plan.

Stygian woke up in a small hollow in the floor, cold but surprisingly full. His whole body hurt and looking down he was surprised to see himself covered in blood. Checking himself he was thankful to find no large cuts but then where did all the blood come from? He bolted upright and grunted as his recently broken ribs protested. "Red, Red are you okay? Speak to me dammit are you alright? Please tell me my wolf didn't kill you too?"
