Curse of the Fallen Quest: Ring Bearer's Trilogy

Kat

"I need to know where these come from." I said simply, and waited for a response.

I watch the semi smile on the handsome ones face, sensing some type of desperation behind the question. I glance down at the ring adorning his hand then back to mine. When I look back up at him I smile warmly. "Well now, there is alot of history behind what you have on your hand there......." I pause a moment noticing the others that have begun to make themselves known. I tense slightly my eyes narrowing on the man in front of me, again sensing his desire not to fight, but my hackles rising slightly at the insinuating threat around me. "However perhaps there is a more appropriate place to discuss such matters...." I place a calming hand on Rays shoulder, "And a less hostile establishment????". I put the question to him hoping that he agrees and a continued lack of violence will continue.

Christian

I looked around, knowing that she sensed what was going on around us.
"Perhaps we might speak with one another in the back, as my own are here, and we cannot leave them without our assistance," I suggested. "Others are on the prowl here, perhaps just hunting, but perhaps not. We must be careful."
I looked from one to the next, but before either answered, a hand fell hard on my shoulder.
I turned, noting the large man's face and shaved head right off.
"Someone is here to see you," he stated. "She says she's got a message for you."
"Where?" I asked.
He glanced anot seeing the cloaked figure.
He shrugged. "SHe was at the door a moment ago, odd girl, wearing a cloak."
A.B. I realized.
"Can you wait here a moment?" I asked him. he nodded.
I turned to the other two, trying agin to smile. "Perhaps we might be joined in the back by another associate of mine?"

A.B.

She heard her name whispered on a thought of someone near by and turned around to look behind her.

No one was there but somewhere in here was Christian. He would be the only one to think of her name.. The bouncer must have found him.

Her eyes scanned the crowd until she spotted the big guy bent over blocking someone. That had to be him. Moving away from the railing to the stairs, she moved down silently but quickly.

Now to get him alone and tell him what she had found or should say who was looking for him. This was a little different than she was used to, but it had to be big.

She moved through the crowd and stopped just a short distance away. He was standing now and speaking to a couple at a table. It was too noisey here to eaves drop on their conversation, or to sense what Christian was thinking, so she waited for him to turn towards her before approaching.

Ray

I lesson quietly to Kat talking to the new guy ignoring the big balled man that comes up behind him telling him of some one looking for him. My eyes drift over the crowd spotting a small woman her long black hair covering some of her left face but, I can see the scars on it still. I see from the other side that she would be a knockout thow they add to her looks some how any way. My eyes moving up and down her petite body taking in her her cut girlish looks. I smirk slightly as I see her looking at Christian’s back.

I tilt my head slightly “Looks like she fond you.” I say in a soft icy tone. I nod slightly at the girl standing behind Christian. I then look at him focusing my fole attention on him for the first time. “And talking in a more privet plays would be advisable.” I smile though theirs no warmth in it at all.

I feel Kat’s hand on my fore arm rubbing it slightly trying to calm me to take some of the edge out of my tone. I then move out of the both stretching the sound of my joints popping lost in the booming music and voices of the humans. I readjust my trench coat making sheer my swords are out of sight before putting my hand out to Kat to help her to her feet.

My eyes move back to the small girl standing with her eyes on Christian. I study her scars briefly wondering what cased them before a shrug it off. As my eyes move to the rest of the club noticing the guy that was standing behind me. I smile as I see that he’s almost as big as I am. I chuckle softly as I relies that he was the one that would have attacked me if this had go sower. I shrug wondering if I could have taken him or not.

I look back at Christian saying “Lead the way my friend.” I smile taking some of the edge out of it this time not wanting to start a fight with some one that I would need before this was all sed and down.

Kat

I take Rays hand, standing gracefully and using the feline grace I"m known for I turn back to the stranger. I look him in the eye squaring my shoulders I hold his sight with my own for a minute before releasing his gaze. "After you", I say to him as we begin following him to the back of the club i see a set of steps. I can feel the hunger begining to flow through my body. (Please Goddess let me keep it together in there). I know that the sensuality is begining to come off of me in waves as my need to ease the hunger in me grows. (Please let me control it) I pray silently.

Lord Vladamir Trepes

It was an old building. Out of the way, it was closed over, and proclaimed that it had been bought by a company that had recently gone under. The deed had found it's way into private hands and so the building had fallen to the clan. He glanced at it, and then made his way to the door, moving through the boards put up across the doorway.

Usually he'd announce himself, but he decided to just pop in tonight. He moved through the halls, hearing a noise up ahead. He stuck to the shadows, watching. Their were at least twenty of them. They were sitting around. He saw a few in a corner with some drugs, their hands all over each other.

The others were fiddling with weapons and speaking loud about what they were going to do to the other clans. A man sat in a large chair, tapping his fingers on the arm.

"Vladamir said we should be looking for these ring-bearers." It was a woman who spoke up, dressed like she was ready for sex.

"Fuck Vladamir." A large man said, finishing building a gun and starting to take it apart again. Vladamir stepped from the shadows and the people who had looked at the man gasped. Vladamir moved up behind the man, who was questioning them, saying how weak Vlad was.

Vlad reached down, and snapped the man's neck deftly. He fell over, and his body was gone. Vlad looked up at them, grinning.

"Yes, little ones, you should be searching."

Christian

As the large man finally seems to notice me, I feel an odd coldness come over me. I'm not afraid, I realize, but it occurs to me, for reasons other than the man's massive physique, that perhaps fear is not a common reaction to him. Once our gaze breaks, I see his head turn to face out toward something behind me. As we stand, I glance back and see the girl, not entirely familiar, but...
Her cloak was gone, but her stance and the way her hair covered her face, creating an oddly similar illusion to that of the cloak, gave her away.
A.B.
I let Leona lead the way, then allowed our guests to walk between us, waving Locke over to me and telling him that these two were safe, and to watch the others lurking around.
Then I turned to face A.B., waving her toward the back and waiting to see if she'd follow my lead.

Glancing around at the group, she noticed the odd tensions in each one as they filed by to walk. Catching Christian's look, she nods her head once affirmative and moves forward to follow.

Although she has no interest in the others, she will go along to see what all this is about. Quietly she moved behind the line of bodies into the back and thankfully much quieter place.

"I have need to speak with you when your business is done." She spoke softly to Christian as she passed by him. Sitting in an offered seat, she waited silently for them to finish their business.

Christian

"Actually, this concerns our business as well," I returned, half-smiling to the girl. AS we moved under the dim lights, swirling with brighter ones, her scars become more visible, then less, in a snap, and I wonder what happened to cause such markings.
Another time, if at all, I thought. Remember your place, Christian.Already the girl had struck my attention and gained my trust, and the discomfort with which she seemed to carry herself among the bodies we weaved through to reach the back only accentuated that. She'd done something that discomfort's her, simply to bring me this information. True commitment, even if it were only to her profession.
When we reached the back, I motioned for the others to sit around a table there. We usually used this table for discussions concerning our enemies, moves that we didn't understand or needed to watch. Isabelle usually did most of the talking, but tonight, she was elsewhere. The ficve of us would share this room alone, privately, and for some odd reason, I was comfortable with that.
I sat down, laying my hand on the table as I had earlier and saying, "Now, if you don't mind my being blunt. What is it?"

Ray

I sit at the table looking at every one. “Three of the ring barrers are hear the fourth should be on her way.” I think to my self a slight confident smile on my lips.

I look at Christian as he asks what it’s all about. I tilt my head thinking of where to start. “Well let’s see your ring is called Sacrifice mine is strength Kats.” I nod to her “Is Wisdom there are two others one is on its way that one is courage.” I pose “Theirs a fifth but I have no idea where it is now that one is Cunning.”

I tilt my chair back on to it’s back two legs as my eyes move over the others faces. My eyes linger on Kat’s seeing something in her eye smoldering. I swallow some how knowing that she must hold on to it until we wear alone or it would cos complexions that we didn’t need now.

I look back at Christian seeing confion in his eyes plainly not understanding what was going on. Not that he should know com to think of it. “You my friend are one of the lucky new ring barrers who are distend to find an evil book and destroy it before it can bring darkness down on use all.” I smirk at the look he gives me.

“New ring barriers you ask.” I say in a bitter voice reading the question in his eyes. “Well the first five witch I’m one of dyed all except for me and Courage.” A far away sad look moves over my face at the memories of Maggie Joseph and Arias son.

I shake my head then clearing the thoughts from my mind. I look at nothing for a moment before looking back at the small group. “I don’t know all of it and understand less of it.” I shrug Aria knows more. She’s Courage she should be hear soon I hope.” I get another distant look on my face. I shrug it off then and leting my chair com down on all four legs.

The one that killed them and has the book and sins the darkness hasn’t clamed use yet he must still be missing some thing.” I fron at that then shrg “Any way his name is Mongril some evil wizer I think. He’s the one that killed the others a few months agoe.” I shrug my face going hard rage plain on it. If they could see my eyes ther would see the white lights swerling menising growing brite with an anger.

I look at them waiting for them to say something. I feel Kats hand on my thigh as I sense something building in side of her. I look at her and let my mind in to hers lending her strength to keep it under control until its safe to let what ever it is out. I put my hand on hers my ring glowing brighter as it sends tendrils of warmth in to her helping to strengthen her will.

I listen to the conversation going on around me allowing Ray to control it for the moment. The hunger is almost overpowering and I struggle with it until I feel Ray's hand on mine and his mind brushing mine gently urging me to hang on just a bit longer. I look to the girl sensing her need to speak to the handsome man in front of me. In the midst of the convo I look him in the face and the name (Christian) hits me all at once. Even though he has been listening to Ray and not speaking a word I realize that he is thinking deeply and that his thought must have projected to me by accident. He looks over at me and unknowingly a warm smile touches my features. I look down at where Ray and mines hands our touching, the heat and glow severe. I watch the girl a moment the scars obvious on her face the pain still fresh in her features, although not physical pain but emotional. I stand wavering slightly at the overall weakness from not feeling and walk around the table in her direction hoping to have a word with her.

A.B.

Listening to the dark one speak, his words and what it all entales is fascinating. She tries not to show interest in the conversation, but can not help it. This mystery is growing larger and larger by the moment...

It is hard to trust the big guy, she notices he does not remove his sunglasses, although it is not needed in the room? Why? What was he hiding? Maybe he is much like herself and has scars to hide? Yet she can see some clearly on his forearms.

Noticing the woman beside him, they almost compliment each other. Where she is fair he is dark. Both tall, both look assured of themselves, both intimidate her in a small way.

Tensing slightly, she noticed the woman stand, their eyes meeting momentarily, she looks away as quickly as possible. She could hear the woman approaching her, but seen no way to avoid looking at her beauty or hearing the woman's thoughts.

Now what? Her mind is searching for something polite to say to the stranger but having little social life, she floundered some what.

Kat

I walk over to the girl and noticing that she does not take a defensive stance I stop in front of her so that our convo can be as private as possible in the company of immortals. "Your scars, do they pain you at all?" I look a bit more closely and reaching out I gently cup her chin beneath my hand and raise her face till her eyes are looking into mine, allowing me to gleam some small amount of information. "A.B., I have no wish to hurt you.....just to perhaps help if I can." I soften my brogue hoping not to scare the young lady before me. My voice is as soft as silk and I sense it wrapping around her and easing her mind.

A.B.

She mustered up as much courage as she could and met the woman's eyes. What surprised her was there was no ridicule in her gaze nor smirks. This took her a little by surprise, so used to petty snobs and comments. She smiled gently and let the woman look at her without trying to hide.

"They are scars so old, I do not think they can be removed, but thank you for your offer..." She fumbled a moment, her brows furrowing slightly, "Your name please?" She had not introduced herself to the woman... ? Ah yes, she was gifted with much of the same things. Picking up bits of information from others.
"I am Annabelle." She spoke quietly. Her attention now drawn from the table where the two spoke and focused on the woman above her.

She picked up on the accent, it was one of those that made the woman's appeal all the more interesting. And the woman's touch was gentle, a healer perhaps?

"This happened before my changing.. And I can not have surgery for obvious reasons." Her eyes lowered a little not sure if she should tell the woman they were everywhere?

She picked up on the vibes coming from the woman as well. It was tangible almost, she could feel it in the air. The woman needed to feed. "Perhaps we should find you something substancial?" She offered.

Christian

Ringbearers?
I shook my head slowly. The man had taken hold of my attention, but the explanation left far too much out, or perhaps it would always feel that way. I wasn't questioning him much, if at all, but the gaps were immense, and understanding was lost between us. Destined, had he said?
I looked back at him, taking his words ("I don't know all of it and understand less of it") at face value.
I would have to speak with this Aria when the chance presented itself.
When the girl stood, and moved toward A.B., I followed her with my eyes, not sure whether or not to be defensive, but feeling protective regardless. Something about the girl had taken hold of me, intrigued me in an odd, made me feel as though she were in need of a big brother.
Or maybe I was in need of a little sister...?
"Five rings; a wizard," I muttered, turning my atnetion back to the large man as A.B. seemed to be getting on well enough with his friend. "Kat and Aria. Aria presumably another Bearer? And you? What's your name, new friend? And why is it that you seem so distant? Your friend needs to feed," I pointed to the girl. "You...there's something else below the surface, something you're hiding beneath those dark glasses..."

Ray

I smile sadly “My secrets are mine to keep.” I say softly pain on my face from the memories and the struggle with in. I look at kat talking to Annabelle. “As fore my name.” I look back at Christian. “My name I Ray.” I say softly leaning back in my set. I look him over seeing that he obvisly has more questions then I have answers at the moment that is.

“Aria is another ring barrier and she’s the one that started this quest. She will have all the answers you could won’t. I’m not sheer when she’ll get hear thow.” My face goes distent mominteraily. “I just fond out tonight that she is still alive. I thought she died with the others.” I shrug slightly. “I would go looking for her but about the time I left hear she would show up so I’m just sitting and waiting.”

I shrug agene “So tell me about your self and these hunters that you’re warred about any thing that I can help with?” I ask a small smile coming to my lips at the idea of a fight. I crack my knuckles as look at Christian. “It’s been a while seines I’ve been in a good fight.” I chuckle softly at the look in his eyes.

Kat

"Perhaps we should find you something substancial?" She offered.

I smile softly at the seeming concern I hear in her voice, "I will survive until this meeting is over, but my thanks." I look again deeply into her eyes noting something else in her thoughts, my face shows no reaction and I release her chin. Taking a deep breath I sigh, "Your right you know, I am a healer........amoung other things." My voice drifts slightly, "And if you will call me Kat I would be most honored." I glance over to where Christian and Ray are conversing and again turn back to Annabelle, flinging my waist length hair over my shoulder I back away from her slightly rubbing my temple. "I am willing to try to help with your marks.........." I pause I moment looking at her in a knowing way, "All of them." I whisper. "I dinnae know how much I can help but I do know I can make signifigant difference." I place my hand lightly on her shoulder, "The choice of course is yours." Another wave of dizziness hits me and I turn towards Ray and Christian.

“It’s been a while seines I’ve been in a good fight."

"You will not fight without me Ashke'." I can tell I startled Ray by the way his head whips in my direction. "And I cannot fight until I feed........in fact I won't be able to walk soon if I do not gain some energy." Again the dizziness hits me and I lean against a wall. Looking at Christian I smile apologetically and unfortunately I know with a hint of something more, "We must leave.....and soon."

Concern lights in her eyes as she watches the woman.. Kat.. fight to remain upright. Saying nothing, she knows how much pride many of her kind have. She herself has as much pride as the others but doesn't mingle much to show it.

Standing, she offers a tentative smile to Kat, "Thank you Kat. If I may? I would like to think on it." She hoped it would not offend Kat, but some things were a way of life. And her self-exile was one of them for no reason other than those marks. Would it change her? She glanced to the two men sitting at the table.

She almost suggested a meeting tomorrow night to let Kat go and feed and rest up, but being assertive wasn't always something she could just do. Again feeling their eyes on her, she clammed up tightly. She would speak to Christian when this was done and get out of here. Her arms subconsciously ran up and down her arms, missing her protective cloak.

Christian

The man's answers lacked the information I wished they would hold, but he'd been fair, I felt, to even speak with me.
"These hunters are most likely just that. Hunters, vampires needing to feed and knowing they can find humans here to fill that need. There are a large number out tonight, so perhaps we are being watched by our enemies. The clans in this area are especially vigilant when compared to some other areas of the city, and larger more often than not, but nothing we haven't dealt with before. Though recently..." I lowered my head, letting the memory roam my mind for a moment before forcing it away. I looked back up at the man, whom I knew would understand. His secrets were his to keep, right? And so my burdens would be mine to bear. "If we are...destined...to work as a team, perhaps it would be best if we speak again on the necessary matters, as well as other things, basics about one another. A familiarity with one another can be helpful in nearly any situation. For now, it seems your friend is in a hurry. Feel free to roam the club. I'll inform the others that you intend no harm. If you wish to return, to talk of this business or otherwise, please, feel free."
I stood, turning to face the tall girl, Kat.
"You as well, and if this Aria arrives, please let me know."

Ray

I look at Kat as she stagers obviously week and in need to feed. I walk over to her putting my arm around her waist holding her steady despite the withering look she gives me. I smile down at her shaking my head at her stubbornness. I then look at Christian a slight smile on my lips.

I then take out a small not pad from my trench righting down an address and number. “This is wear we are staying.” I had the paper to Christian. “If you need help ether call or com.” I look at AB and you are welcome to. Kat hear seems to like you and I have a feeling I could grow fond of you my self.” I smile then looking back at Christian. “Don’t let any one ells know where we are staying just incase mongrel is looking for use.” I shrug slightly. “Better to be safe then sorry.

I look down at Kat concentrating on sending some more strength in to her my ring glowing with warmth as it moves in to her. I feel my self growing weaker. I smile though as she stands starter leaning on me less.

“So sis shall we go find are meal and bring them home?” I ask softly concern in my voice thou I’m not sheer if it is for some one car for or for some one I need. I feel conflicting amnions swirling with in. I some how no for now any way it is genuwen concern for her my old self wining for a time any way.

A.B.

Watching the big guy tenderly hold Kat upright, it is conflicting emotions in her mind to witness this. He appears so hard and cold and yet some moments he looks different.

Odd indeed.

She slid off the chair and moved around the couple coming to stand beside Christian. All the information that had been given out was just so far fetched and hard to believe, but then again it seemed to make sense as well.

It would require this Aria to explain it, or possibly research the rings themselves. She wasn't sure, but she didn't think it was wise to mention Vladamir to the strangers. She's speak with Christian and find out what his wishes were before she left tonight.

Unbidden her mind went to Kat's offer to remove the scars, it would be more than she ever thought possible to accomplish.. A dream almost. She wasn't sure if she was willing to try it though.
Shaking the thoughts off, she turned towards Christian.

He towered over her so she stretched up on her toes to whisper in his ear. "Can we speak privately before I go. It concerns the rings." Moving back down, She backed away from him, realizing how closely she had been standing to him. Looking down at his hand, watching the faint glow of the ring, I wondered why he had sacrifice? And what did it mean? So many questions left unanswered, it was a mystery to solve. She loved a good mystery and looked forward to discovering it's secrets.

The only notable good thing was Christian had his clan to protect him and Kat had that really big guy. Those were in their favor, and made her question why Vladamir was looking for a ring bearer when he wore none himself? Again she would have to discuss this privately with Christian and see what he thought on it. She did nothing half-assed and she couldn't endanger anyone for a few bucks neither.

Kat

I can feel the strength flowing into me from Ray and I smile my thanks, standing a bit straighter. I nod my goodbyes to Christian and A.B. as Ray begins walking me out to the open club again. Once we are clear of our new aquatinces and I sense no one watching us of our kind I turn quickly and plant a steaming kiss on Ray. I can almost taste his surprise then his ardor as he responds to me, his passion fueling me giving me needed strength to hunt. I pull away slightly smiling with renewed vigor and a wicked gleam in my eye as the energy in me doubles from his passion. Now once again standing my full height I look up at him and in a voice nearly a purr with the lust I use to fuel my hunt I softly touch his cheek and tease, "Let the games begin ashke', my hunger will no longer hold off."

Gumo decided not to continue with the current line of conversation, especially since Willow had made his point so eloquently. Besides, Gumo might as well get some sleep while he could get it. Things were beginning to make sense, and Gumo was finally getting his footing in this situation. He bowed to Willow, wishing him a good evening, and went to bed. He awaited meeting this Mongrel finally. The more he heard, the better this whole situation sounded.

Christian

As the two left, I felt slightly more comforted. Part of me could not believe they were sane, but another part rationalized that I knew too little of what was going on to make that judgment just yet, if ever.
I turned to A.B., who seemed a little discomforted at having been so close to me. Part of me wanted to reach out with one hand and pull the girl body to body with me, just to see how she would react. I used to reach out to Kayla that way, I realized, and my heart stung just a little more than it had before.
I glanced down, closing my eyes and collecting my thoughts, then looked up to her again.
"What's this we need to discuss?" I asked. "Have you found out anything?"

A.B.

She sensed his sudden upset and backed away a little further, not knowing what had upset him so, she figured it was best to not ask.

Private thoughts were none of her business, nor were the emotions one gave off when thinking.

"I ahh.. Found someone who wishes to speak with a ring bearer." she blurted it out as quickly as possible, being alone in a room, uncovered and him upset seemed to be more than she was used to.

"You found out what you needed to know about the ring, so I guess our partnership is done." She offered a small smile before letting it fade. Perhaps he wouldn't approve of even a tiny bit of enjoyment with his heart bleeding.

"He has hired me to bring him a ring bearer, only I haven't promised delivery to him. I leave it up to you to decide if you wish to speak with this natural." She moved towards the table and sat down a moment, wondering what all she should tell him about this new comer? Not meeting his gaze, she sat and waited for his decision.

ooc: *grumbles* Third and first are a PAIN sometimes lol dont be alarmed if I change it. Too much editing
