Curse of the Fallen Quest: Ring Bearer's Trilogy

Gumo

"The other plane is here, sir," the pilot said.
Gumo nodded. "Good. Call tower control and issue a terrorist alert and an emergency refuel. That should keep them grounded for a bit." He turned around and went into his office, opening the exit door. Before he left, he turned to Hiro. "Go to the cockpit and work with the pilot to make the terrorist alert he just issued believable."
"Where are you going, sir?"
"To get some answers," Gumo said without looking back as he stepped down the exit.
Hiro wondered aloud to himself, "with the ninjati?"

A swift knock at the door brought Mongrel out of his concentrated state. He sat up, yawning a bit as the door opened, and a tall attractive woman with high cheek bones made her way into the sauna.
Mongrel didn't bother to cover up, and the woman didn't look ashamed in the least.
"A bit of a problem. There was some sort of call about an hour ago. One of our recently aquired gun running groups had a run in with someone looking for you. They gave him a number which he tried to call you, but it was just a contact number."
She brought out a tiny recorder, and pressed play. Mongrel leaned forward, listening to the voice on the other end, desperately asking to see him.
"Familiar?"
"I believe so. Can't put my finger on it, but I'm sure I've heard that voice before."
"He said he's coming for you. Do you want me to add security? Anyone who asks for you to be killed on site?"
"No, no, no, nothing like that. If he has the balls to take out an entire group of vampires just for me, I would love to meet him. If he comes around, let him in. Tell anyone of my people to be cooperative for someone who wants to see me. No needless death. If he wants an appointment with God, he can have one."
"Yes sir," he made a note of it, walking out, "Oh, the plane with your passengers should be landing any minute. Everything is already prepared."
He nodded, laying back down on the hardwood bench, and pouring some more water on the lava rocks, as steam drifted up into the dense room.
He let out another yawn.

Lord Vladamir the Fated

He didn't bother making the overland route. It would take days. Instead, he made his way towards the nearest airport. He'd get himself a small plane. He could fly it himself. On of the good things about living as long as he did, you can learn a lot of useful skills.

When he arrived, he found that the only plane available was outrageously overpriced. He simply shrugged his shoulders, and paid for it. It wasn't really his concern. He had the money. What he didn't have was a lot of time. He had to move on to the next step.

And see if they'd tell him anything. Climbing in the cockpit of the plane, he ran a few tests, reaching into his mouth, and cutting his thumb on one of his fangs. Tasting the blast of coppery blood let him know that he'd have to feed when he landed.

He sighed. It was such a bother.

Aria

Finally the plane was on the ground! Sitting up I listened carefully for any sign of Willow and his thugs. Hearing nothing more than some muffled talking, I quickly exited the room.

Passing Lance in the chains, I didn't give him a second look but mostly watched for Willow. Still not seeing the prick I finally turned and seen Lance.

"That fuck head!" I gasped out, anger coursing through me. Granted Mongrel did not say he had to be perfect condition but that animal was pushing it!

I did not want to feel sympathy for that man, after all he tried to kill me! But I couldn't help it. Something inside of me felt some weird protectiveness towards this man. Unexplainable yet again, but it was there. Walking over to him, I lifted his face to gaze at him.

"I'm going to get you out of here, I hope." Thinking of something so spur of the moment had me in a tangle. What was I to do? Face down Willow? He had the freaking key on him somewhere, So now what? Releasing Lance's face I moved towards the main cabin, hovering in the doorway and watching Willow in the chair.

"I'd like the keys now." I said boldly wandering how stupid that was? Three sets of eyes swung to meet mine and none looked friendly. "I don't have all day here, Where are those keys?" Acting antsy to get Lance to Mongrel was the only thing I could think of, figured the only thing they would assume as well.

Willow wanted to laugh in her face, but he didn't get the opportunity.
"Sir, there are reports coming in from the front terminal. Some sort of commotion going on. The planes are all grounded."
Willow shook his head, "Who cares? We're here anyway."
"You better take a look at this."
He went up to the front cockpit, watching a man, tall and lanky, something at his side walking up to the plane at a feverish pace.
"That doesn't look like a security guard."
"Sir, there have been reports of a man looking for Mongrel, or people from his operation. This could be the guy."
Willow wasn't sure, but he doubted it, "No, we just arrived. They would have had to follow us in a plane, and if he's out there, that's impossible."
"So, what now?"
He turned back to the men, looking at them. Two bodyguards, rough weathered, both armed and dangerous.
"Get out there. Talk to the man, see what he wants."
They nodded, moving to the now opened front hatch. Willow stayed behind with the pilot, and the co-pilot/doctor. They both grabbed a few guns. Willow didn't see a need to, not yet. If there was a problem, goon number 1 and goon number two could take care of it.
He looked back at Aria.
"Sit down, shut up. Don't give me an excuse to rip your throat out, ok? Sit back like a good girl, and we'll get you to Mongrel in no time."

Aria

Tired of his bullshit and attitude I was tempted to tell him where to go and how to get there.

That wouldn't solve anything, only make matters worse. I heard the conversation enough to know they were occupied. So be it. I said nothing and slipped away while their attention was else where. I had ways, surely I could think of one better than this confrontational shit.

Moving back towards the only room on the jet, I searched my bags until I found the safety pin and bobbypin as well. Smirking yet again, I moved back into the next room. It had been awhile since I did this, hadn't it? Funny how I knew how to pick a lock with these things but didn't recall doing it?

I stood before Lance, thinking this was the dumbest thing I could possibly do! Backing off, I turned to leave, telling myself this was stupid and idiotic and would get me killed.

Two steps and I stopped, shoulders sagging as I turned around again to face him. Leave him, my mind said. He wants me dead, for a stupid ring! Of Course I had an idea of what this quest was about now and could not fault him for wanting it finished. Mongrel was an evil man.

Another step towards him and I halted yet again. I could hear voices outside raised a little, talking quickly but nothing really I zeroed in on to listen to. Yes or no dammit! I couldn't stand here for eternity deciding!

Moving that last few feet, I stood still as possible, wondering and thinking and changing my mind about twenty times in a matter of seconds.

"I can't let you die like this.. GOD!" I muttered softly. Taking the safety pin end and putting it in the top hole, I pushed in the bobbypin and began to press and pushed at the same time.
"I am going to regrett this..." His hand feel free of one manacle.

Moving to the other side I hurried and repeated the process, freeing both arms he went down like a load of bricks. Jumping quickly I moved between Lance and the door. Willow had to have heard that! I prayed not, but I had a sinking feeling he did.

Gumo was muttering a mantra of calmness in his head as the two guards stepped out of the plane in front of him. The taller one had a limp from an injury that was five...no, six years old, give or take a few months. The other was in top condition, however, and he looked like he'd been itching under the weight of his own testosterone for a while. Homocidal obsession was not healthy.

"Can we help you sir?" said the older on with the limp.
In a near perfect New Jersey accent, Gumo spoke to them while pointing all over the place. "Yeh, didjou guys hear? Some kinda terr'ist shyit. Towah's shut the place down," he said as he continued to get closer. He had noticed their guns and immediately he slipped into protective stanceing.
"No shit?!?" the younger one said, not nearly being as perceptive as his comrade or this strange Jap from Jersey.
"We knew something was going on, but --hurk[--" were the last sounds the older guard made as Gumo plunged his hand through the other's chest to grab his heart. The pure shock value was enough to stun the younger guard and make him fumble his weapon. Gumo was not so surprised and a second later you could tell by the way the guard's head was rolling away that he was in a very bad mood.
Placing the ninjato Akuma in her sheath and continueing towards the entry ramp of the plane, he never skipped a beat.

Willow emerged from the top of the plane, his gun pointed at the man.
"Impressive," he said, trying to understand just who in the hell he was. Apparently someone who knew Mongrel and had some sort of grudge.
No one would just come up to a plane and start killing people without knowing what they were doing. This had to have been planned out. How long? Weeks? Months? Just waiting for the right time?
"Not another step. Who in the hell are you, what do you want?"

Gumo looked up at the man with the gun and cracked his neck.
"I'm getting really tired of people holding guns in my general vicinity. They are cowards weapons."
He deftly rolled under the fuselage and came to a kneel where he could throw Ryu and pull her back with the fishing line if needed.
"But since you're obviously more intelligent than your unfortunate employees, I guess I'm willing to talk to you for but a moment."
After that he slowly and quietly started closing the remaining distance to the exit ramp of the plane as the man began talking.

"There is always time to talk," Willow said, moving inside the plane just a little bit, not letting his body hang out against the open air. He heard something strange. That man had fucking weird weapons, nothing he had seen before.
"I do apologize. I just saw you waste two of my men. Forgive me if I don't feel a little defensive. You mind explaining why you come running up to my plane and killing my people without any reason?"

Gumo stopped and squinted. The man wasn't as long winded as he hoped. And he thought he was an American. Now he was going to have to throw his voice, and he wasn't very good at this at all. He got an idea. He took Ryu from her sheath and as quiet as a whisper, put it through the fuselage hoping to hit the gas tank. No luck. Whoever designed this custom had put the tank elsewhere. Smart. He went back to where he was standing before and replied to the man with full knowledge that he was stuck.
"Sorry about your men, but I did tell you I don't like people with guns, which is why I'm currently under your plane. To answer your question, I have a bit of a problem." He paused to get a reply and verify location.

He didn't like people with guns. That made sense. Hell, Willow hated women, so he went around killing them everywhere he went. He checked the clip of his gun, making sure the silver bullets were inside.
Yes, still there. Willow would bet anyone this guy was a vampire. One of those trained ones. A hired assasin maybe? One of Mongrel's enemies?
Mongrel didn't have any enemies. They had all been taken care of a long time ago. Maybe he was just a rogue soldier, working as a revenge tactic. Mongrel fucked her sister or something.
"I have to admit, I have a bit of a problem myself. You are making things more than difficult for me. I've already had a hell of a time getting everything this far, just to be stopped yet again. It's stressing, you know?"
He motioned for the others to get loaded and ready. He didn't want the fucker out there knowing there were others inside. Best to let this little detail be his hiding ace.
"What is it exactly I can do for you?"

Aria

I could hear what was going on and did not like it one bit. Who was here and why? Worried that this would get ugly, I tried to grasp the notion this guy took down both of Willow's goons?

That been said, he had some training of some kind. Wits? Lack there of? A death wish? Whatever it was, he had big balls.

Moving back towards Lance, I lifted him easily enough and put my hand over his mouth to silence any sounds he might emmit. Carrying him into the bedroom, I laid him on the bed and checked my gun. Not knowing where my daggers went, I didn't bother searching.

Moving to the door, I stood there silently. Watching Willow (what I could see of him) and watching for signs of life from Lance.

As the man replied, Gumo held his face to the plane. Lots of people were moving in there. He was smart, after all.
"Well, my problem is thus," Gumo said as he pulled both ninjaro and prepared for the firefight ready to ensue. A small voice inside his head tried to say something, but he blocked it out. His P'o would not come out unless he was already dead otherwise.
"A few days ago, this damnable ring appeared on my hand and almost literally pulled me here. Apparently, to something or someone on your plane."
He took a deep sigh and was ready.
"And I hope those men have made peace with their divinities."

Fucking shit. Willow growled, sensing it was coming. A ring. He had a fucking ring. It was all with this destiny shit.
He would want Aria, maybe even Lance too. Well, if worse came to worse, he would let the man have the cunt before giving up Lance. If he didn't deliver Lance, Mongrel would make sure that he never saw the light of day again.
A dungeon demon. Spawn of genetic waste, being raped and tortured down there.
No, not for him.
"Ok, ok, wait."
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
He looked at the two guys, sighing as he did so.
"Get Aria."
They looked at him a moment, and then complied.
"Sorry baby. I tried to hold him for as long as possible."
He glanced his head out, knowing the man was close. A sharp smell of steel and sweat, under the plane? He wasn't sure, but it was close.
"We're sending her out."
He looked at Aria, "Hate to burst your bubble, but you are expendable, you always were."
With a forceful kick, he shoved her down the entrance.

Aria

I seen them coming and tucked my gun into the waist of my pants, expecting them to tell me everything was alright now, the assholes grabbed me and shoved me down the hallway.

"What the hell are you doing?!" I jerked one arm free and kicked the guy in the balls. Down he went as I was flung around and thrown at Willow.

Swearing the whole time, I almost punched him before i was literally tossed out on my ass to the hard ungiving ground below.

"Oof!" The breath forced out of my lungs as I sat glaring up at Willow in the doorway.

"You little bastard!" I climbed up to my feet, rubbing my ass at the same time. "What the FUCK! was that about!?" Expendable? Always was?

"You rotten little.." I didn't waste any more words but reached for my gun and aimed it right at Willow's head. "I am going to kill you.." It was loaded, and very ready to put some holes into his head.

Glancing towards the side of him I seen two more guns trained on me as well. "Looks like we're in a stand off here.... YOU Lying piece of shit! Get Lance out here right now, or so help me god..." I warned.

A movement at my side caught my attention as I jumped back a little and briefly glanced at the guy standing there.

"And who the hell are you?" I didn't give him much of a glance over considering I was trapped between a pair of guns, the desire to kill Willow and save that pissant who did not deserve it!

Gumo felt the heat in the ring subside. This was what he had been brought here for? He sighed once again and smiled at her.
"My name is Okama Gumo. I think I've been brought here for you. Although I'm not sure. Either way, you might not want to try and shoot me, because if I were the one up those stairs, well, I would have shot by now, but if not I'd shoot as soon as your one gun wasn't pointed at me."
With that, Gumo raised a finger to his lips, pointed two fingers at his eyes and then at the ground, signaling to 'keep looking at this spot.' He then went on the other side of the plane from her and started climbing the fuselage with the blades, trying to keep out of sight of the windows.

"Sorry, baby. Maybe if you weren't so uptight we could have had something, but as it goes it's either your ass or mine..."
He reached out, grabbing the main hatch and pulling it back to its original position, so he could close and lock it up, and be done with this entire crazy fucking thing.
"Quite frankly, I like my ass a lot better than yours."

Aria

Baffled by all of this, insulted and quite frankly had enough, I did what I wanted to do.

"Your ass won't be pretty forever Willow!" I vowed. Of Course he couldn't hear me, he shut the door and was locking it up.

"Ummmm Mister Gummy? If you wanna know about the ring, You best figure out how to get into the plane and see the nearly dead guy in the back room!" I hollered out.

"He's the only one who knows!" Moving away from the plane I went and stood behind the limo that sat there. The driver pale and trembling inside looked at me.

"New guy?"

"rental.. The other is in the shop.."

"Oh, well hang around.. It only gets better.." I leaned against the long car, putting my body safely behind it, and waited.

"Why am I waiting?" Other than being annoyed, I should just get into the car and go to Mongrel with all of this shit! He'd do something about Willow's treatment...

"You're expendable.. always have been.." It rang in my ears, sickening me more so than it did the first time. Well apparently I was free to go.. And to think I went through all that shit for nothing!

He hadn't expected "Willow" to close the door. Time just got cut short. Gumo jumped onto the wind and dug in with Akuma. It was the next logical place for the fuel tank to be. Then, before anyone could start shooting, he jumped onto the back of the fuselage and did a running jump for the tail wing, leaving a nice big pair of slashes in it. He landed roughly, but on his foot and knee, stood and walked towards "Aria."
"I am not gummy, I am Gumo."
He turned to watch if they lost brain cells and took off, or if the cuts he made would do any good if they did.

Aria

I chuckled, "Well excuse me. Honest mistake. Gumo is it? Well I don't know who you are, but i do know their destination is here. So I'm sure they aren't going anywhere.. Hang on." I reached into the limo and opened the door.

"Excuse me a moment." Yanking out the drive, I hopped in and quickly backed up the car. Angling the front end at the front end of the jet I pushed full throttle on the gas pedal. Backing up a good distance, I slammed on the brakes and put it into drive. Romping on it again, I realized I was getting good at this 'Road raged' driving abilities.

Just before the car was ready to hit the jet I jumped for it, rolling and covering my head as the limo hit into the front wheel of the jet.

"Run!" I yelled out, knowing any second there would be a hail of bullets flying overhead or worse an exsplosion.. But hey it was worth a shot..

Running where the car HAD been parked I grabbed my gun and moved around the jet out of range.

Laughing a little, I knew that was the stupidest thing I had ever done!

Gumo stood amazed. She was definetly wreckless, but effective. They now had no cover, though.
"That...was unwise. But not irrevocable. Come."
Looking like he was taking a stroll in the park, Gumo started walking for his own plane, which wasn't far away.

Aria

"I am not coming anywhere with you.. Lance is still on that plane! And Willow will certainly be calling for back up. Now either help me get him out of there, or go off on your own." I folded my arms and glared at him definantly. I had a job to do and he wasn't going to stop me.

Turning I glanced at the door, no one was waiting to shoot just yet. I wondered what was happening inside that jet? The car didn't blow up, that was a good sign, but the leaking fuel wasn't a fun situation.

"The Jet is leaking fuel!?" I gaped, turning to glance the retreating back of the china man.

"And you think I am crazy!?" Shaking my head, I turned back to the plane.

"I need to get that door opened.."

She was obstinate. Fine. Gumo motioned for his plane to come to him. Slowly, the plane started to creep in his direction.
"You aren't going to get that door open with your hands, or with force. At least, not with conventional force."
As his plane picked up speed, he slammed his fist into his open other hand and pointed at the now disabled plane.
"But we will most likely have an opening soon. I would suggest taking cover somewhere, because they can't fail to shoot forever."
The planes were on a collision course, and in any moment, there was going to be a sizeable hole in the other plane. Then he remembered why they needed in and signalled to his plane to (he touched his nose while pointing) 'hit the nose'.

Aria

Duck for cover where?! He had to be mad, worse than I was. I watched opened mouthed and completely speechless as he pointed his own Jet at the crippled plane.

"That's going to cause an exsplosion!" I tried to stop him but yanking on his arm but got no where. He moved off for cover, Like an idiot I stayed rooted to the spot.

The jets came closer and closer until I could hear the tearing, high pitched whine and tearing of metal as it grind against each other. Both jets bounced or tilted kind of as they hit into each other. Gaping, I stood there as Gumo's jet went ripping past the other and stopped. I didn't have to see the front of the jet to know both were now completely useless for air travel.

"My god.." Awed, confused and not sure how he got his jet to do that, I shook it off. Stunt pilot or something. It took me a second to wake up and shake myself out of it enough to run towards the jet. As I got nearer my eyes and throat began to burn from the fumes of the leaking fuel.

This was unsafe and down right deadly if one thing sparked. God!

"Were you not thinking?! Hell!" I hadn't been thinking either! I had little time and I wasn't sure who was ready inside, but I jumped up and launched myself into the, what once was, cockpit.
I moved quickly into the plane and stopped in the main cabin.

Willow and the two remaining men were laying in various positions on the floor. Moving around them I could see blood on Willow's head. Glancing around and taking in the sight, I knew something or somethings had been thrown around and knocked these guys out. That or they passed out from the fumes and hit their heads.. Either way, they were down for the count.

Moving back into the bedroom, I went to open the door and couldn't. The bed apparently slid to block it. Bracing my feet I pushed against the door until it opened up enough to get a brace against the door frame. Lance lay half on and half off the bed but still out from the looks of it.

Not really in the mood to take my sweet time I grabbed him by his feet and pulled him towards me. Getting him upright, I turned and ram into Gumo.

"Here, Take Lance. He knows about these rings and can help you. Make sure you get out of here as soon as possible.. Or they will kill him." I pushed Lance at the guy and pushed them both out of the plane. Stopping, I ran back to the main cabin, stepping over the guys as carefully as possible. Grabbing my carryon with my cash and id's I hurried and left the plane.

Instead of following Gumo and Lance I headed for the main terminal to get myself a flight to New Orleans. I had a past to figure out and my ass to watch.
