Have you ever cursed someone?

Do you believe in curses?

I cursed the person(s) who took something precious from my family.

I don't feel it was wrong of me to curse them, under the circumstances.

I think it depends on the situation.

Some people don't think it's right regardless.

i have.

i do.

i have a super high tolerance for bullshit, but i have cursed someone before. the curse was filled with anger and venom. once it was out there, the negative energy was released from me. i let go. i could not just forgive and move on.

I feel you on the negative energy. I felt so much better after saying what I needed to say and letting go. Sometimes you just have to wash your hands.

Are you Italian or Gypsy? Both groups love a good curse.

I've considered it (Italian) but never gone full curse.

Yep. Some years ago, I heard something about curses on the radio. The person said if done with enough intensity, it would work.

My boss at the time was known as "The Hatchet Man" because he fired people for no reason. He had demoted me because one of my employees did something wrong. I was on vacation at the time that it happened. To me it was a slight thing. I put it right but my boss told me that since I hadn't left the state while on vacation, I should have come by every day to check on my employees.

That was bad enough. But then he fired my friend for being 10 min. late. She was not late! At the time, our schedule was written in pencil. When he wanted someone gone, he merely had the personnel manager erase the time and write in an earlier one. But he would have her do it just before the start of the shift so there was no way to know unless the person got there really early.

I went home, screamed into the still air of my apartment, "I hope something bad happens to Mr. C!"

Got to work the next day. Mr. C. was not there. He'd had a heart attack. He had to be off of work for a while so he got demoted. But while he was out, there was an audit. Seems he had been doctoring the books! He was fired.

He then opened a feed store and hired his son to run it. The son robbed the store blind and took off. Mr. C. had another heart attack and died. Ha!

Good Lord. I'm neither.

Does that mean my curse won't work?

Dang it!
Sorry, honey. The rules is the rules.

That Karma right there. Sounds like the fucker deserved it.

Have I ever been cursed? No idea.

Have I ever placed a curse? No. I would need instructions.

Curses fit into the same category as religion, unicorns, and tooth fairies. If placing one helps you clear the negative thoughts, do it.

In 1962 I was in rural Croatia, then part of communist Yugoslavia. A group of us were sitting outside a cafe when an elderly woman went past. She stopped and made a horned gesture towards me with her left hand. I asked the waiter who was standing by our table what she meant by the gesture.

He said: "She thinks you've got the evil eye and it is a preventative gesture to avert a curse. But she does that do any man who is tall with blond hair. He husband was killed and she was raped by the SS. Anyone who looks like a blond Aryan SS has the evil eye, according to her. If she knew you were English, she'd apologise. Englishmen with the partisans killed the Germans who'd raped her. But she actually believes in the evil eye and that someone who has got it has the power to curse."

I didn't curse her. I just felt sorry for her.

nope.

even in my worse times i've never wished terrible things to happen to someone. don't know why, since they probably deserve everything bad that could happen

Messianic hubris or just a genuinely fine person?

Riddles. Life is full of them.

I have a handful of all purpose curses; got them from the mom of a macedonian woman i dated.

I come from a long line of witches, never got into it myself, couldn't bring myself to participate....shit is goofy as hell LOL.

I've freaked people out like that before because it's hilarious.

You really piss people off you can say gibberish and as long as it sounds like a chant it scares the everloving shit out of them.

You know. It's a funny thing. I never used to believe in any of this sorta "stuff". Right up until I had my palm read one night. Back when I was a teenager. Happenstance? Is that the word? We met by chance. I was just sitting alone one night. She came to me. And everything she told me... It all came true. All of it.

She said I had a choice.
And depending on which path I chose, I'd either end up living in America, or Australia. And here I am. Yes, you yanks are lucky LOL

I'm not joking when I say this. Every single person I've despised, has run into strife. EVERY SINGLE ONE. At one point, I started to worry. Because there was a pattern. I worried that something truly bad was going to happen - one day- to someone I cared about a lot, if I wasnt careful about where I chose to direct my negative energy.

But then I find myself thinking, did this person already have it coming? Perhaps they run into strife on their own because they're despicable. Guess I'll never know.

I was in Trafalgar Square London in the mid-1960s when I was approached by a gypsy woman selling 'lucky white heather'.

I refused, politely and she started to curse me. I stood there, looked sternly at her and then laughed.

I said: "Beware, ineffective curses might turn on you."

Her face paled and she turned away.
