Well that's sorted then.

Trump has said Russian leader Vladimir Putin would accept European peacekeepers in Ukraine as part of a potential deal to end Russia’s war in the country.

Mr Trump made the comments to reporters at a start of a meeting at the White House on Monday with French President Emmanuel Macron on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Yeah, he will accept it,” Mr Trump said. “I have asked him that question. Look, if we do this deal, he’s not looking for world war.”

He arranges a deal with Putin that Ukraine will pay the US reparations (in excess of those imposed on Germany in the Treaty of Versailles) for being invaded by Putin, then graciously announces that Putin will accept peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.

All without any need to involve Ukraine.

Putin must have mentioned those pee-pee tapes again.

Russia's ally supports Russia by voting against a UN resolution condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The United States joined Russia to vote against a UN General Assembly resolution condemning Russia’s war against Ukraine Monday in a stunning shift from years of US policy.

The vote against the Ukrainian and European-backed resolution saw the US at odds with its longtime European allies and instead aligned with the aggressor in the war on the three-year anniversary of Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

It came as the Trump administration has pursued discussions with Moscow about ending the war as the President Donald Trump has ratcheted up his rhetoric towards Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The resolution was adopted by the General Assembly with 93 votes in favor. It notes “with concern the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation

Update: Trump lied.

Kremlin disputes Trump comments that Russia would accept Nato peacekeeping troops in Ukraine

During his regular media briefing this morning, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov appeared to dispute Donald Trump’s claim that Russia would accept European peacekeeping troops in Ukraine.
Addressing reporters, Peskov said the Kremlin had nothing to add to the foreign ministry’s position on the unacceptability of Nato peacekeepers in Ukraine.
On Monday, in a joint appearance with France’s president Emmanuel Macron, the US president claimed that he had spoken with Vladimir Putin about the potential deployment of Nato peacekeeping forces in Ukraine, and the Russian president said he “has no problem with it.”
Last week Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said that the deployment of Nato troops under another flag – “under the flag of the European Union or under national flags” he said – would be “unacceptable” to Russia. Peskov’s comments this morning appear to suggest, contrary to Trump’s assertion, remains the case.

Is there anything that Trump doesn't lie about? Is it OK to lie as long as it 'owns the libs'?

He's also lying about Macron speaking in French to confuse him into agreeing to a deal that he didn't understand but agreed to anyway. He's a total ass, European leaders are openly referring to dealing with him as 'Toddler Management'. Damn, he's making America look great.

Trump really should leave this kind of negotiation to the professional diplomats.

But he never seemed to understand those are a thing. In his first term he utterly neglected the State Department and left ambassadorships vacant for years.

seems trump's "pissed off" and very cross because putin's managing to make trump look bad by not putting an end to the war russia started with Ukraine. Makes him look weak, as if he can't keep his promise to 'end' the war on Day 1, shows the world he's not the deal-maker he wants to be seen as and that his influence over putin isn't what he's boasted it to be:

as for this, it's prime SNL material... I can hear his awful voice and see his head and hand movements. And just how hypocritical is it to state it's putin's questioning of President Zelenskyy's credibility given the shameful context of that Oval Office debacle?
In an NBC News interview, he said he was angered by the Russian leader questioning Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky's credibility, and he threatened to impose a 50% tariff on countries buying Russian oil if Putin did not agree to a ceasefire.
"If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia's fault - which it might not be... I am going to put secondary tariffs... on all oil coming out of Russia," he said.

The key line from that twaddle:

“and if I think it was Russia's fault - which it might not be...”

😑

Such a simp.

Trump's stuck between a rock and a hard place with his ego. Putin's been stroking it, and playing with him. Now Trump's frustrated because he can't get the NPP, and he really wants one, after all that Black President did.
