Damn Stupid Internet Explorer.

Nope. C64, then C128, then an 8088. Lol. Still have the C64 and 128. The movie "Wargames" had a hand in turning me into a geek. Nice thing is, I look nothing like it. Geek incognito! I'm curious, what version of FF are you using? When I tried to upgrade mine to V2 on my 98 box, I had problems. I still have V1.1 laying around if you'd like to try it. Only problem with that is some of the plug-ins (like the ones I linked above), aren't compatible with v1.1. But the Chrome (IE) plug-in did. I'll have to see if I can find that plug in. Here's a different one (haven't tried it) FF IE addon / plug-in.

Now, about that tattoo...I'll show you my ink if you show me yours

My Firefox version says 2.0.0.1. And they say I don't look like a geek either....until I open my mouth. Then they run like hell. Umm unless they're into girl geeks then they're intrigued. It's weird. I saw "Wargames" and made my TI talk just like that. Had to debug a couple times, but I learned to write BASIC programs that way. That's also how I got into RPGs. I used to want a Commodore, but once I touched my first Mac.... it was totally heaven! Gad, I sound awful...lol. But Linux does get you curious. It looks like the Mac OS and DOS had gave birth or something.

Linux was around before OSX. Linux is the redheaded step child of Minix. Linus wrote Linux because the guy maintianing Minix wouldn't accept his bug fixes.

Minix? Something between Unix and Linux?

I've never had the opportunity to know a "girl geek", but have always wanted to. So I'm naturally intrigued by it. I had a feeling you were into RPG's. I was going to ask what kind of games, but you clarified that already. I have a love/hate relationship with my PowerBook. Not having any previous Apple experience, it was interesting to learn something new. But then of course, I also had a lot of time on my hands when I got it. It's a long story I'll tell you another time, in private, as I don't care to share it publicly. As far as DOS, how I miss it! If you know DOS, I want to marry you yesterday. No, that doesn't make you sound awful. I like a woman that can show me a thing or two

DOS. Dirty Operating System. DOS was why I ran to the Mac. I have a powerbook too, but it's neck is broken, I don't wanna get rid of it cos it has great speakers and realllly helped me thru school. I do collect DOS games tho. Since I got the new PC tho... it's not wanting to play them tho. Recommend something for playing DOS games in?

Oooh, good question. I'll see if I have any type of emulator, I don't think I do though.

What appears to be DOS in WinXP and 2k is not DOS, it just looks like it. Could be why the old games won't work on the new PC.

One problem with running DOS games on today's machines is that the CPU is too fast for the games to handle. A lot of games will require a program to slow down your CPU (like CPU Killer) in order for the game to run. Check around and see if that will help the problem. Though it'd probably just be easier to find an old system to run the games on...should be able to pick one up at a thrift store/flea market for under $30.

Lol, that's funny. I loaded up an old 486 flight sim a few months back and before I could blink I had reached my waypoint. If she wants to pay for the shipping, I could build her one with all my old parts. Have a 486dx2 66, a pen100 and a pent200 just sitting around with all the ram that would be needed...WOOT..16 meg!

But what it would cost to ship it, could probably find one local for the same $$.

It's one of the reasons I didn't upgrade past Win98se.... Windoze gets pickier and pickier, and even tho they say DOS no longer resides under Windoze, it's there. And... you can't play DOS games normally anymore. Its like OSX and Unix. They're turning into twins. So I stay at OS9.1

What was the last version of DOS that came out by itself? Maybe I can find an old laptop 300mghz maybe put it on there?
