This is a closed thread for Elvenstar and myself.
In this land, elves were a rare sight. They kept to themselves, mostly. Every once in a while a young elf would decide to be brave or curious and venture out into the surrounding lands, but these moments of excitement were few and far between.
The elves loved their land. They held a forest beyond the Movarre cliffs, known only as Rycindellor. Legend tells of large cities deep within these woods that would rival any that man could build or dwarf could mine.
But this particular elvish city is fairly small. It is a town known as Sinda, named for the soft sound that a brook makes as it babbles. There are only a few dozen elves who live here, peaceful and quiet in their existence.
They have no fears, save for one.
There is a part of the forest nearby that lays in only shadow. Sunlight could never pierce through the thick canopy of darkwood, no matter how bright a day.
Animals did not wander anywhere near there.
The elves did not understand this area, so they simply called it Darkwood. It's actual name is Korlain, which means Darkwood in an ancient elvish tongue, but no one dared mention that name lest a cold shiver race down their spine.
But the elves who lived in Sinda did not bother this dark place. They simply stayed away from it as the animals did. Elves were cautious and peaceful creatures thinking if this dark place did not bother them, they had no reason to bother it.
Ahh, but not all elves were cautious and peaceful. Some elves, young ones in particular, get it in their mind to learn the mysteries and curiosities of their own world.
And here is where we begin our tale, in this small town of Sinda, where a curious elf has made a very interesting decision.
The Darkwood to the north of Sinda awaits her... if she is brave enough to venture through it.
