When I recently checked the Pending field for my stories, I noticed that the entries had dates attached. However, one of those dates is tomorrow.

If the dates listed do not represent the date submitted, what do they mean?

For those seeing this in the future, it is currently around 3 a.m. on 06/13/2026 as of this post (central time zone, USA).

Once the story is approved, the date changes to reflect when it will be published.

What about the title change dated for June 9th?

If both dates were in the past, or both dates were in the future, I'm pretty sure I could have figured out what they represented on my own. It is having one of each that is confusing me.

If you look, the one with the past date still says "Pending" next to it, so it's probably the date that you submitted it. It looks like it hasn't been approved to be published yet, hence why it has the original submission date. The one in the future has a "Published" next to it, indicating that it was approved and is scheduled to be published tomorrow.

That is a request for an edit. They *always take longer than new story submissions.

* excluding system mishaps where something gets lost

Thank you. I hadn't noticed that those two little rectangles were different. Observations like that are why I included a screenshot. :)

Fifteen days, according to a forum announcement I read earlier, right?

No, edits routinely take a month or more. There's no such thing as "it's only a small edit, so it shouldn't take long".

I wonder if it would have processed more quickly if I had included something non-standard, like *Title Change*, instead of *Edited*.
Edits don't follow the same fifteen day guideline.

Consider that your story is already published. Sure, you would like to make a change, but there are hundreds of new stories waiting to get published everyday as well. These take precedence, and rightly so.

It might seem like a simple change just to the title of your story wouldn't be that big of a deal, and easy to just rush through. The problem is that we all share this site with the occasional bad actors who might try to sneak something that violates the site policies into a story that was submitted as just a title edit. Consequently, every edit likely still needs to be reviewed as if it was a new submission.

There's always that one person who makes things more difficult for everyone else. :(
