That scenario is unrealistic. We’re not looking at Iraq- or Afghanistan-style invasions, no massive armored divisions rolling across Iran. What we could see, under certain circumstances, are small-unit, highly targeted operations: securing weapons caches, rescuing downed pilots, assessing strike effectiveness, or providing real-time targeting solutions. In fact, likely, special operations teams are already on the ground, because that’s how these situations are handled. And make no mistake: if U.S. intelligence identifies stashes of enriched uranium or other sensitive materials, ground troops will be deployed to seize and secure them. We will not allow such weapons to fall into the wrong hands. The 82nd is an INFANTRY division, and that means the very LAST thing we can afford here -- boots on the ground.
