Luk when caught, once again, embellishing his internet persona (this time with an unspecified "luxury car") lashed out thusly:

"All of Tweak's shitpistss towards other posters are born of jealousy. You would think someone as defeated as him and pushing 60 would have accepted his place in life by now."

Do you prefer his wording or:

"All of Tweak's shitpistss towards other posters are born of envy. You would think someone as defeated as him and pushing 60 would have accepted his place in life by now."

It's amazing how Luk always knows exactly who and how old everyone is while jetting around on his Gotrax G2.;)

This reminds me of the time that Que insisted in no uncertain terms that it was improper to pronounce query in a way that rhymes with theory.

Hahaha@ shitpistss. Is he trying to over exemplify his lisp when he types?

So like it rhymes with "Terry"?

That's neat. I wasn't making fun of you or anything I'd just never heard it pronounced anything except as if it rhymes with "theory".

I'm not chagrined at my pronunciation because the only time I've ever heard it used was in movies generally with an English accent and I've heard it in the context of learning computer programming and we always pronounced it like Terry. Which is perfectly acceptable.

I was chagrined because BobsDownSouth kept sing-donging it Queeeeery spelled that way and I took him to task for torturing the pronunciation into something unrecognizable (to me) just to make it a homophobic slur. See also his extrapolation to Queerbait.

I, quite reasonably assumed he would do so given that he takes anything and turns it gay, because gay was the most incisive insult at the peak of his emotional development that peaked for himin 5th grade.

Anyway, I went all in when people were telling me that they say queery. And hadda eat crow.

It wasn't just that my pronunciation is a secondary one it was that I didn't realize that his primary pronunciation was a thing at all. And insisted that it was not.

I'm pretty confidant on envy though. It may be a Queen's English versus American sloppiness though. I used to use jealous the way Luk does, and people use "jelly" when they clearly mean envy.

If I ever start a thread (unlikely), I’ll aim to make it as compelling as this one.

No need to strain yourself. Aim for you first moderately compelling post and work your way up from there.

The non-stop bickering back and forth between a few posters is tiresum.

Every. Fucking. Thread.

I see my schooling you as to the proper use of envy/jealousy paid off. I must admit I've learned definitions of various heretofore unknown words but largely Ammurikhan contractions. Can't say Lit never taught me nothing'. ;)

ETA envy is the right answer, of course. :rose:
Oh, and jelly sounds stupid.

Yes, thanks.I should have given credit. I disremembered who brought that to my attention.

Also, vote!

Substitute "her" for "him" and this sums up Q-####'s relationship with Luk.

That's why this thread exists. :)

He envies my luxury car and is jealous that she chose Luk over Q-####.

FYP. Your fantasies notwithstanding, we have no relationshiip.

Even with the proper word supplied that sentence still needs work.

"He laughs at my imaginary "luxury car" and is astounded that "she" (or any woman, really) chose Luk over celibacy.

For what it's worth I envy you renting a pool house which would be an upgrade for me, I don't envy the added cost..

. . .and don't be jealous, although we have no romantic history, I very much like her over you, so your instincts on that are correct.

No, both cases still envy.
'Envious she chose Luk', unless you 'had' her first. I'm not up on the relationship drama around here.

Making Q-#### go apoplectic with rage is really all that matters.

Seems an impotent goal.

So, yeah; that fits.

Sad!

Nothing is sadder than you having two tribute threads for Luk on the first page.

No "assignments" lately, yes?
