Dealing with negative comments

This thread as caught my eye, so thought I'd have a look to see if it was something out of the ordinary that you were suffering from. Most of my work is published in the LW category and, unless you've deleted the offending comments, that's the kind of stuff you'll get. I notice you have some strong and complementary feedback, plus some (and I recognise some of the antagonist) that appear to have strict "moral codes" , in fact I'm pretty sure there are some that are actively working to stop people like us publishing by trying to bully us.

My personal general rule of thumb is to delete the following:
  • Comments that are simply personal attacks on me or fellow Literoticans, with no relevance to the work they are commenting on.
  • The one line "Just another cuck story" unless, of course, it actually is a story with an emphasis on cuckoldry
  • Political messages, (I actually had one from what I would consider a Russian troll re current war!)
  • Stuff with no relevance to the story in any shape or form.
I'll let slide comments regarding the storyline or content. One I'm seeing regularly are comments awarding me "one star" ( LOL they make me cry when they say that :ROFLMAO: ) because I introduce a gay or lesbian character. I was going to start to delete them, but appreciate people have different ideals to me. Actually creating a comment that they've lowered a score, or even stopped reading at that points shows the rest of us they are....you get the picture ;). Here's a random selection of my comments.

"Total waste of time. Totally unrealistic."
"I was going to give this story 4* until you made Sanne a lesbian. Way to ruin a decent story. Couldn't read another word after that BS. 1* but now wish I could give a lower score."
"1-star. Why didn’t Ken call the police when Bill knocked him out after being caught banging Tracy? I believe there is a name for the act of someone hitting you….what do they call it…..oh yeah, Assault."
"No ⭐️s"
"This belongs in fantasy section. Not a single character in this acted like an actual human."
"Entire story was evident after 3 paragraphs. Don’t have to bother reading. He’s a simp she’s a whore. She is fucking everyone at work. He is last to know. He finally clues in. There. Don’t waste your time." (C
learly evident from the comment, this individual didn't read the story.)
"The story was boring. The characters virtually the same as a million other characters in stories here. Could you try to write something remotely erotic" (This one was from a fellow author, phill1c, so I thought I would go and see what I should aspire too and checked his work out!)
"Long, boring, a mixture of many well-known scenarios. Worse than clearly bad writing, because you hope that the it might be better, so you keep reading until the disappointingly predictable end."
"I'm sorry I wasted 2 hours reading this contorted mish-mash of highly-unlikely coincidences."
"Too long, boring and meandering with cartoonish characters who were ridiculous.1 star."
"A typical LW menhating tale, presenting a childish masochist idiot husband, that gets destroyed in every possible ways by his demented narcissistic whore wife. The ending fairytale for this monkey husband, doesn't balance the previous 90% of menhating content."
"SHITTY story How can you write this absolute fkn crap I hate YOU"
"...NOWHERE. This is the worst example of Bible Thumping Bullshit I've read recently."
"
Another Brtit Cuckold Story, Wow! What a surprise. Sad really Boring Same old same old Formuliac cuck tripe"

That's just a cross-section of "negative" comments against my work posted in LW I've left in situ, you need a thick skin to post there, but don't let it deter you. I liken Lit to like driving a car down roads. Drive down certain types of road, follow the traffic signs(theme of the category!), and you'll see no grief. But LW? That's like driving down a road with waaaay more traffic, and there's a few asswipe drivers, that'll do their best to upset you. Some, because it's simply who they are, others? They don't like the idea of you driving :)

I've published a story recently and the initial comments were negative in that they didn't like the theme or it wasn't realistic for them, doesn't align to the morals and no body would act this way, woman who cheat are trash... etc.
Not on the content or style of the text.

Now I get that not everyone would like the theme, but these are fantasy and the comments were their views, not on the story or it's quality. I've tried to be clear in the tags of the themes but people read these and negatively comment they didn't like the theme or actions.
Others have pm'd me telling me to delete the negative comments

Ive seen the same on other recent stories as well that I thought we well written.

So question is do I leave the comment there, how and when to delete the troll posts?
Thoughts?
Well, I too have had my fair share of F wit comments by Anonymous. The thing is this: these stories are our creations and we have written them the way we want. If the person commenting thinks a story should go another way then he can jolly well write it himself.

He won't, of course because it takes effort to write a story and that's far too much for them.

I published my very first story a few days ago. Some of the negative comments really surprised me with how vitriolic they were. I understand someone not liking the length or pacing. But to insult someone's intelligence, call them names, or say they don't know anything about women - when I AM a woman (!) goes into troll territory. It's particularly unsettling when the profiles of some of the most hateful commenters complain about the negative feedback they have received. Hypocrisy much? I suppose the option is to only post with feedback turned off. TBH I thought writers would be more supportive of other writers. Perhaps I expected too much.
What makes you think the comments are from writers? Do you recognize names?

I delete comments that are abusive towards me as the author or towards other commentators (I haven't had too many). Otherwise I leave them alone, or try and engage them positively (some people do come back to read responses to their comments, but mostly I respond for the sake of other readers).

I have had one "fan" olso that kept writing that my text can't be understood. At the same time I had likes from others. I took it as bullying and I guess I was right. Like someone said some people tend to criticise texts like texts in literotica would be written to Nobel price or other highest standard publifications. Then there is others that complain that it couldn't happen like that in the real world. Guess what... These are fantasies! Or telling that how pissed of they would be if they have been the main caracter. I have even had criticism that in one of my stories one cumshot wasn't used afterwards. Then someone can ask where is the massage parlor that I was writing about. These are fantasies... I could say that every negative feedback is written by anonym writer. I ignore those feedbacks. Those who give them aren't writing anything by themselves or even using any profile to criticise. People who write stories have any payment or gifts from using their own time making stories. So how can readers demand anything when they are giving nothing? Nice feedbacks are the only payments with likes and five stars that the writer can have. Those are important to me and motivate write more. So if you liked someones story give stars, loves and nice comments. Then the writer propably writes more.
