Non sequitur.Free trade agreements with Canada aren't security interests
It's relatedNon sequitur.
How would you know?
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in his opening remarks during a congressional hearing Tuesday that not fully funding the Department of Defense (DOD) to the tune of $1.5 trillion is the "greatest threat" the United States faces at home and abroad.
Hegseth made the remarks while testifying today before the Senate Appropriations Committee, as the White House is requesting an additional $87.6 billion for "urgent needs" regarding the United States' ongoing military operations in Iran.
Maybe you could provide the context for each statement.Trump has said he wants to halve military spending, and he’s said he wants to increase it 50%.
Maybe next he’ll announce he’s cutting it 800%!![]()
Zillions for bombs, nothing for people who understand the lands you're dropping bombs on.Trump wants to increase defense/war spending by 50% in the next budget, to $1.5 trillion.
So give us the true number. Afterwards, explain why you support a nuclear-armed Iran.I guarantee you the costs of this war are a lot more than 87.5 billion. Bush with the Iraq war shifted the costs to future budgets so it wouldn't show up as extra spending in that year. It likely when you factor in the cost of actually fighting it then replenishing weapons stocks that it will be in the many hundreds of billions, the Iraq war ended up close to a trillion by the end.
Now, the best outcome that Trump could possibly manage would be the restoration of JCPOA, freedom of navigation of the Strait of Hormuz, after the USA spends millions to clear the mines and wrecked ships and, oh, the $300 billion Trump promised to give Iran. Basically the situation under Obama, only with Iran immeasurably more powerful and everyone laughing at the USA.Iran was never going to have nuclear weapons until Trump destroyed the treaty
I don't support a nuclear armed Iran, and that claim is typical crap like somehow if you didn't support the Iraq war you weren't supporting the troops, it is trying to paint dissent as unpatriotic or playing into the enemies hands .So give us the true number. Afterwards, explain why you support a nuclear-armed Iran.
