deleting downloaded Porn on the computer?

Ok here is my situation. When I download a video off of the internet (.WMV file) I can watch it but when I am done and I click on the file it automatically goes back to the original file that was downloaded under the same file name. Is there a way I can permanitly delete the originale file? I am using mozzilla firefox if that helps at all. Also I am very computer ignorant so any help would be appreciated.

I am no pc guru but a friend who uses some pretty dodgy internet sites told me that he uses a file and internet history deletion prog called Evidence Eliminator. Here is a link to it's site:

I do know that there are many of these progs around and EE is by no means the cheapest.
Try a search for "File shredders" or "File deletion" in google or other search engine, you will get many options.

The trouble with pc hard drives is that even when you delete a file it remains on your hard drive somehow, these type of programs are supposed to completely remove all trace that you ever had the file.

There are several things you can do, if you want to delete it all together you can go to the START area goto the FIND section (FILE and FOLDERS) in the NAME are you can put the name of the file you wish to DELETE. This will also bring up all the files with that same name so make sure you find the one you want to remove.

You can also goto your cookie area useing the FIND function and DELETE all your cookies in the C: Windows area and your Temporary Interent files. And what should be done not sure really maybe a once a month is that you D-FRAG your computer what this does is that your computer will automatically delete all junk you can change the settings but mostly I leave it alone unless you didnt save important things in special areas. Doing this will not only clean out your computer make it some what faster too.

You will be surprised at what your computer saves, so much usless CRAP.

I can try to help. It would be useful to know what the OS version of your computer is (Windows 98, 2000, XP) but even without that I can offer some suggestions.

First of all, if you're using an earlier version than 2000, you shouldn't even be on the internet. This isn't me giving free advertising to Microsoft for their newer products; earlier versions are not secure enough to protect you from viruses and such. If you must go on the internet with a pre-2000 machine, at least make sure you have NO personal information on it ANYWHERE.

It's a little difficult to get the gist of what's going on by your description, but I can certainly tell you how to delete a file. What you want to do first is determine where on your disk Firefox is downloading to. You can see where they're going this way:

(1) Open Firefox.
(2) Click on the Tools menu.
(3) Click on Options...
(4) In the resulting window, click the Downloads icon (a green arrow pointing into a box)
(5) Note the location of the Download folder. That's where your files are going.
(6) It may also have the circle checked for, "Ask me where to save every file". If that's the case, then they're going wherever you're telling them to.
(7) Once you've found the files you're looking for, skip to step (9) below.

If the above doesn't help you find your downloaded WMVs, then you can use the Search function.

(1) Find the My Computer icon. It will be either on the desktop or in the Start menu.
(2) Right-click on it and select Search.
(3) Choose the option for All Files and Folders. Do not choose "Pictures, Music, or Video".
(4) Under "All or part of the File Name" enter the following: *.WMV
(5) Click the double-down arrow under More Advanced Options to show those options.
(6) Check the box to indicate you would like to search in Hidden Files and Folders.
(7) Click the Search button to start your search.
(8) When it is done, you should have a list of all the .wmv files on your system.
(9) Delete them to your heart's content by selecting the ones you want to get rid of and hitting the DELETE key.
(10) Once you've killed off all the files you want to, find the Recycle Bin on the desktop. Right-click on it and select Empty Recycle Bin. When it asks if you are sure, click Yes.

That's all there is to it!

Incidentally, you do not have to save files with the same name they have on the website you get them from. If you go back to the Options window in Firefox and select the option to "Ask me where to save every file", you will have the ability to rename them as you download them.

Alright Xenolan You are now my favorite member of literotica. I cant believe how much porn was on there. I have not deleted it all yet because I want to look through it all (for research of course,LOL). For anyone else with the same problem as me this is what I did.

When you do this "(4) Under "All or part of the File Name" enter the following: *.WMV" make sure its capitalized (case sensitive)

When Xenolan said "(6) Check the box to indicate you would like to search in Hidden Files and Folders.", I clicked all of the boxes it wasn't in hidden files and folders, I'm thinking it was in system folders.

I combine 3 programs to delete any unwanted files. First, I use Disk Cleanup, which can be found under System Tools on your Start menu. Then I run CCleaner, which is very fast, and I finish with the shredder feature that comes with MacAfee anti-virus. If you use these 3 programs, even the FBI would have a hard time finding more than a few scattered words or picture fragments.
