Desire for Sci-fi/Fantasy stories

I've gotten to the point where I just can't get interested in writing a straight up sex story anymore. I've dabble with some stories with historical plot lines, but I'm finding they just take up too much time doing research. So, I'm starting to turn to the idea of using Sci-fi and fantasy to explore erotic situations. It has the virtue that the reader is already suspending their disbelief, so it's a nice median for exploring some "edgy" stuff (but never violent).

I'm curious have other author's found that there is any desire on the part of readers to read sci-fi or fantasy based stories on Lit?

Well, I certainly desire to read sci-fi stories on Lit, so there's one.

I like sci-fi for the generally different setting (ie: You rarely see a sci-fi story where two people hook up at a party, although I did come across one sci-fi story that took place at a college campus on another planet). Plus, you can really throw in some different stuff, such as freefall sex, or aliens if you're into that sort of thing (which I am, but I digress)

If you look around, there's a pretty wide variety of sci-fi/fantasy stories here you might draw some inspiration from if you get stuck, written towards all sorts of kinks and fetishes.

I came up with one I want to write when time allows. Something like "Total Recall" except the husband and wife are "switched", (for the curious). He is in her body and she in his, (all for a fee of course) they awaken to a few days of counciling with real humans and training with life-like cyborgs before they are allowed to meet again.

I haven't even started it yet, just one of my wild ideas...Hmm, unabandon sex with a life-like cyborg programed to tease, please, and train me to be him and him to be me. I would really have to work myself into a mood for this one!

Lit isn't my favorite story archive because the categories aren't great and it's impossible to figure out which stories are new since the last time you looked. But, science fiction and fantasy is my favorite kind of erotica. Human-alien romances are great, also mages and dragons and shapeshifters and heat cycles and hermaphrodites, and imaginary drugs or potions that can have various sexual or emotional effects, and exaggerated body parts and variations on pregnancy that just wouldn't work in a realistic setting...

Depends how often you visit. There is a seven day list of new stories at http://www.literotica.com/stories/new_submissions.php and if you look in the categories there is NEW on a yellow background next to the stories on the new list.

Interesting...seems there are some people interested. I've just reached a phase in my writing where I can't get into the "sex scenes" as much anymore. I much prefer to spend my time developing characters and plots. I'm seriously considering starting a novel/novella

I'm not sure Lit would be the forum though. The premise of the story is about a man from modern society (American) who suddenly finds himself in another world (mechanism unclear). He struggles with finding a way home at the same time he struggles with sexual identity issues, sparked by interesting characters he meets and it all happens in a fantasy world that is quite unreal (think elves, dragons, pixies, nymphs, bizarre landscape, magic, etc.) It's part action adventure, part humor and definitely erotic. There's a certain coming of age aspect of it though that's not going to be suitable for Lit, so if anyone knows of other moderate to high quality forums for such stories I'd be interested. Thanks!

Nope we got farscape to, i watched it for a little while, the two ladies they had on a regular basis were quite appealing to me and him as well, though i never did figure out why. I stopped watching a while ago cause it was getting soapish.

I've never seen Farscape, though from the Wiki article I would say it's similar in that it's about a guy who's quite lost, figuratively and literally. To me it might be something along the lines of "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court". The humor will be situational, but I do want to draw in elements that are "fantastic". That second part will be a stretch for me as my writing is usually characterized as feeling extremely real. The idea is still percolating.

I have several projects that involve a present day or near-future human going to some alien or fantasy world. But, there isn't any going-home struggle or theme, they are about 'going native'. A coming of age tale does not have to involve an underage character by the way; they can be about an adult who has never fit in finally finding a culture where they fit in, a calling, a soulmate, some way to belong, or even a physical transformation into a different body where he can finally be at home.

Eventually I'll do a sex change story, guys turns into a woman through a science experiment gone wrong type thingy. Be more about learning how to cope with his new body and learning the world over again than anything else.
