Well I have a brother 11 years younger than I am. I was born in PA and he was born in WI.

My Dad was in the service of all things and he was stationed in PA. We were there for about a year after I was born. We have all decided that is why I have a slight eastern dialect.

My folks are midwesterners and I and my brothers grew up in Milwaukee after Dad finished his time in the draft.

Me too. I do wonder if I picked the sounds up as a kid from the neighbors when we were living there. I didn't know until high school that I spoke with a dialect.

It was pointed out to me in class. The teacher was explaining dialects and as she finished she said there is one person in this class with a decided eastern dialect. I tell you I was looking around and saw everyone looking at me!

At that point I tried to get rid of it. Hey a freshman in high school wants to be like everyone else. I didn't really get rid of all of it though.
