If she stayed home, she'd do 12 loads of laundry, mop and wax floors, iron, cook a six course meal, take the curtains down, wash them and put them back after she dusted and vacuumed.

Yeah you're right I would....my blinds and curtains really do need to be cleaned....damn it's a good thing I'm working today. :D

That's three kids and four activities..........someone has to give up one.

no both boys are out for soccer and baseball and my daughter is out for track and softball. Isn't that gonna be fun with the price of gas running to all those games.

Someone will have to bum a ride with a friend. That's the advantage of having only one kid who really had only one interest.....

A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is selfish and inconsiderate and cares nothing for the habitat of animals or the preservation of our woodlands.

He does this so he can make a profit of £20.
What do you think of this way of making a living?
Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did the birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down their homes? (There are no wrong answers).

Once my son decided he wanted to take organ lessons. We were singing at another church, so he asked the organist if he gave lessons. The man said he needed to talk to his parents so my son brought him to me. I told the man that the two of them could work out the time because I wasn't going to bring him to the lessons. If he wanted to add organ lessons he'd have to take the bus. The man looked at me like I'd grown three heads. My son told him that he only had to take one bus to the church. I explained to the teacher that I would pay and make sure that he had the music. He would have to find time to go to our church to practice! My son was only 14 at the time.

....and my favorite Maya Angelou poem......

Preacher, Don't Send me

Preacher, Don't Send me
when I die
to some big ghetto
in the sky
where rats eat cats
of the leopard type
and Sunday brunch
is grits and tripe.

I've known those rats
I've seen them kill
and grits I've had
would make a hill,
or maybe a mountain,
so what I need
from you on Sunday
is a different creed.

Preacher, please don't
promise me
streets of gold
and milk for free.
I stopped all milk
at four years old
and once I'm dead
I won't need gold.

I'd call a place
pure paradise
where families are loyal
and strangers are nice,
where the music is jazz
and the season is fall.
Promise me that
or nothing at all.

TGIF {{{{{{{DGO}}}}}} Thank you for sharing Maya Angelou's birth date with us. She is quite something. The poem you included does say it all and does it so well.
