This situation is as complex a situation as it gets. The Kurds helped us fight ISIS because ISIS was more of a problem for them than it was for US. It's a difficult situation and there are more kurdish factions and allegiances that we couldn't possibly please everyone. In many cases we cause more problems than we solve. We got into the fight with ISIS based on emotion and we're leaving based on emotion. There were strategic reasons for each. I personally don't want to lose another soldier in that shithole of an area.
