I'm just wondering if anyone has some ideas about how a person who was previously rather, um, reserved could find out if there were any orgies going on in their area. I'm pretty sure there's some rather arcane etiquette to getting invited. How does one usually navigate that? (I'm thinking about Eyes Wide Shut. . . no matter how hard I try not to. . .)

And I did read the swinging submission (?) on the How To contest.

Go to the nearest adult store in your area and look for your local swingers newsletter or bulletin. Believe me they are out there :)

I'd get involved with sex positive/swinging websites, clubs and groups, as they usually have group events or "parties." Most are members only or private, and it's helpful for males to have a female partner (or two) to go with.

We had a profile on one of the swinging personals websites and were invited to several holiday events, so it's not that difficult. Getting involved with the community via forums and local groups will likely yield invites as well. Just ensure you know the basic rules and etiquette AND ask each host about their own rules, what you should bring, how you can help, etc.

Yes and I do agree with the most beautiful Erika, but you do have to find where and who they are and looking at your adult store will give you those answers

Google and sites like SwingersBoard and SLS Personals usually work pretty well, too. At least we've been able to learn about local groups by looking online. :)
