Minor Characters You Can't Stop Thinking About

Sort of the entire point of my Community Pool anthology series is that a supporting character in story A becomes a main character in story B. The common thread between them all is Science teacher and part-time Aquatics Director, Harriet ‘Harry’ Johnson, but she didn’t take center stage until story #3, after which her new partner, Riley Sullivan became a second such common thread.

It’s an Olive Kitteridge-inspired approach.
I've added your thing to my Favorites though I've only read the first half of the intro. Will read the rest once I have time.

I will die on the hill that the 'horse' named Jack is the Samwise Gamgee of Estelle and the Sorceress

He runs into a supernatural fight with terrible odds with just his hooves and his chompers and does his best. His compatriot is a wrecking ball and so he has much more effect, but Jack still showed up.

Bravery is being scared but doing it anyway, and Jack was very brave.

Minor Characters You Can't Stop Thinking About

In my Angels & Demons novella, Heaven & Hole, I introduced a young Cuban chef called Elena. She was one of the employees at the mansion whose owner my two heroines were investigating. While a supporting character, she had an important contribution to make and was rewarded for her fortitude.

Some of the characters became a loose ‘family’ centered on my angel / demon girlfriends. And Elena got passing mentions a few times. But I always kinda liked her.

I made her the FMC of a 750 worder, which I later extended to make into an 8,000 word short story. I often think about writing more about her adventures.
