Its more the new alert system on the main page. The bell of a notification...the sudden rush of excitement that someone has favourited or commented...only to find its someone updated their profile.

Whilst that is exciting...its a disappointment.

I have a few websites I bounce between when I'm dealing with late night boredom. These forums are one of those websites.

But unfortunately, this place sometimes don't feel so alive unless I'm jumping into the argument battles, and that hasn't been curing my late night boredom much these days.

Thought about trying to role play with random kinky people in the role play area again, cause it CAN be fun, but I'm afraid of connecting with a person who ends up wanting more than text-based role play or to move the role play somewhere outside of Lit which I'm not okay with.

I think the easiest way to get lots of notifications here is to post a new thread with an unpopular opinion, or a hot take (popular opinion disguises as unpopular) then as people start fighting over their opinions you'll be flooded with new notifications until you get overwhelmed and mut the thread.

It probably seems like it to others. But I do it a few times a day.

I also don't look at the site-wide New Posts list. Just my own notifications, and, the main pages of a couple of the sub Forums. And I never get PMs for what are probably obvious reasons Even when someone asks me to start PMs with them, I more often than not just don't, and continue the conversation out in the open instead.
