Do you favour sex scenes or sensual buildup ?

I think it's important for you as a writer to write the story in a way that turns you on. It gives you a personal link to the characters and the story.
I guess that explains why my somewhat asexual ass is at 6k words of a draft and there's still no porn.

One half of the endgame couple hasn't even realized he's gay yet. I wasn't planning on this being such a slow burn. Yet here I am!

I only write what's in my head and I go with the flow of it.
If it's a sex scene, then that's what it is.
If it's a sensual buildup, then that's what it is.
Changing your own story or anything about it, to appease anyone other than yourself is just plain ass dumb.

Most of my readers seem to enjoy a slow burn, especially in my more romantic stories. Not sure if I succeed, but I try to give some insight into my character's lives and what attracts them to each other before anything sexual happens. In my story 'Taste of Temptation', two of the chapters had no sex at all, just plenty of yearning, and they still scored pretty high.
