I hope this deserves a new thread, because my previous one regarding the plagiarising of my story series, Fucked Stupid, had exhausted itself, and this deserves attention beyond languishing at the bottom of that thread. Please forgive me if that is bad form.
Having decided last night to read all 3 parts of "Simple Takeover", I now wonder whether the author plagiarised another work on Literotica for the only other story he has published, in December, here: https://www.literotica.com/s/conchita-the-seductress. Since I have very limited knowledge of writers and their stories on Literotica, I have no idea beyond one or two red flags. Maybe someone with greater knowledge of other authors' writing styles might wish to take a look.
It was a peculiar experience reading "his"/my story, because so much was very familiar. As mentioned, he'd sometimes changed names (Valeria to Valentina, Haverstone to Smithstone, for instance), but frequently kept exactly the same phrases to describe physical appearance. For instance, the ditzy blonde seductress with big breasts who turns out to be a calculating predator still wears a sparkling gold mini-dress. While the writing style felt familiarly mine in places, if I hadn't known the characters already I'd have formed little sense of who they were. Overall, he had kept most of the same plot points, but moved them around a little or extended them with almost non-stop sex. I looked at his list of favourites (which doesn't include Fucked Stupid, funnily) and authors he follows and noticed that mixed wrestling / sex fighting figures fairly prominently. There was a distinct sex fighting hue to his extended sex scenes, even if they did seem to rely largely on the principles I had established for their sexiness. In fact, to my mind, his version might be best described as porn rather than erotica, being so heavy on sex and short on character.
What confuses me about it all is why he went to all the trouble of writing what he clearly thought an improved version of my own story series, moving action points, extending and partially rewriting sex scenes, but couldn't be bothered to change names, descriptions or substantial sections of text, to the point I would have recognised the influence of my story but have had no grounds for complaint (as I have noticed previously).
That brings me back around to my initial statement that I now doubt the only other story he has published (4 days earlier) is really his own. I can't be bothered to read it, as it's pretty awful from the little I skimmed and has a weird habit of changing first person POV every couple of paragraphs, but it is so entirely different from mine, except in theme, that it leads me to conclude that either he has a style which he established in that first story and then entirely abandoned in deciding to plagiarise mine, or that he plagiarised both. Not only is the writing style entirely different, but it is also 20.5K words long, whereas his version of my story series consists of 3 parts, 7.7K, 3K and 3.2K words in length.
PS I assume Laurel is a very busy lady, but, if she decides it deserves removing, when is that likely to happen?
