Does anybody really watch/like the Kimmel show?

The libs will be on to a new cause célèbre tomorrow and Jimmy will be olde news. :)

It was never about Kimmel

Just like it was never about Colbert.

All part of the culture wars unfortunately.

Everyone can see its payback for historic cancelling and de-platforming of insufficiently woke people.

And sure, it can look mean and vindictive and petty……..and it kind of is. The problem being it serves to highlight how crass the whole identity politics thing always was.

And if the next Dem candidate doesn’t distance themselves from identity politics they’ll lose again.

The ratings data is pretty clear. Late night comedy is dying, and Jimmy’s show is the worst performer among the big three money pits. They are not valuable assets to the corporations that own ABC, CBS and NBC.
The Presidential ratings data is clear also. Presidential likability is dying, and the felon is the worst performer among the last three. He isn't a valuable asset to any nation except maybe North Korea and Russia. Indians don't like him at all, even though he stopped seven or maybe ten wars that could have brought about WW3 or @@4 or something like that, he seems to say more often now.

Today, to improve his ratings, he switched sides from Russia's win to siding with Ukraine's win. A 180 for sure. Let's see if the fans start tuning in to watch his new performance on that channel. He's still got that Ace up his sleeve vote for the Nobel Prize in mind, that's still hanging in there. Or maybe an Emmy at least for best performance by a narcissist as president.

Now, for Kimmel, I tuned in too late to catch his monologue. He was already promoting guests' new movies. Unfortunately, I'll have to tune in here for your unbiased view of his show. How'd he do, in your opinion?

Yes, it shows everyone that the people who complained about being victims and who saw behavior they didn't like, really just were upset that they weren't the ones doing it.

My comment was not about Trump’s polling numbers. It was about the rating declines in late night TV shows and Kimmel’s show in particular, which has the worst ratings among them. Nice deflection.

But yes, Trump’s approval numbers are not good, and not unusual for recent presidents in their second terms.

Kimmel once again spoke his mind last night, and some MAGAts (including the Pig) will continue to whine and threaten.

Both he and Kirk are national symbols of free speech in America.

It's a capital crime that Kirk was killed by an assassin.

Kimmel monologue was beautiful and spot on. Too bad network and cable media outlets aren't as straight up as Kimmel's comments.

The Jimmy Kimmel show employs 200-250 people, with Jimmy Kimmel himself drawing a large salary. $70 million probably still isn’t enough to cover the costs.

Of course, one must consider the alternative: All those employees going on unemployment, etc, and the question of what programming would fill his time slot that would do better (cost vs benefit).

Keeping Kimmel and Colbert seems like the best option to me, but I’m not a network exec dealing with DonOld & the MAGAt republicans’ faltering economy and fascist oversight (coercion through threats against their broadcast license, etc).

😑

We. Told. Them. So.

I do rather wish that business decisions were made on the basis of business considerations, not fear of political pressure. That was one of the main themes of Atlas Shrugged, the dangers of crony capitalism.
