i found that the people from some particularly areas of our country are mostly very open to sexes when the people from some other area mostly not.

even most of the whores are from some particular areas, it seems their families or friends don't care.

what's your opinions?

Well - here in the 'States, I guess the most sexually free and open areas would be California (home of the porn industry!) and New York - but that's really more a function of them being big cities.

Out of curiosity, which regions in China are more "sexual" - is it the more urban areas, or is it the more remote and quiet regions?

Yes, "hometown" does have an influence on sexuality -- just as it does on very other aspect of a person's attitude and opinion on any subject. Children tend to absorb the attitudes of the people around them as they grow and either continue those attitudes and opinions or reject them completely when they become adults.

National and regional stereotypes arise in part because of real regional or cultural differences in attitudes. Stereotypes are dangerous, though, because they can lead to prjudice and intolerance.

The reasons for real regional differences in sexuality are hard to pin down. Rural vs Urban, Rich vs Poor, Diverse vs Insular and a thousand other factors combine to create differences. A small, poor, insular, poorly edcuated, rural population -- like the Applachian Region of the US -- is often more tolerant of incest and sexuality than a large, rich, diverse, educated urban population is.

But that's not always true; Boston, Mass. is reputed to be a very sexually conservative place; San Francisco, CA is roughly similar to Boston in most respects but has exactly the opposite reputation -- the determining factor in that case is history.

However, both Boston and San Franciso have significant numbers of people who would prefer the other city's reputation and work to that end.

here in China, the girls from Hu-nan and Si-chuan province tend to be open, tend to lose their virginities very early. and most of the whores in other major cities are from those provinces.

a lot of Hong kong people and Taiwanese are working in mainland China, they usually are richer than our mainlanders, a lot of them have girlfriends here, we call it as "second wife". most of the "second wives" are from Hu-nan and Si-chuan, their families don't care if they can get money from that.

Just look at my quote stated under my AV.

I come from a moderate, but conservative community but I
know there are many sexual "tigers" and "tigresses"
around where I live.......

Stereotypes and prejudices are and should never be trusted. GRRRR!

A bit like saying: -
"All generalities are wrong". Which is a generality ergo wrong. But if that makes it wrong then the generality, that "All generalities are wrong" is right and therefore it is both wrong and right...

The phenomomen has been noted for centuries. The Karma Sutra observes that people from the "south" are more often into anal.

I wonder how far "south" was for the author....

I think it has. In smaller town or rural area, larger % of people know you - it can be hard to express sexuality if opinion of majority is against it. In big city, no one really cares if you're gay or bi :)

I live in capital of Finland and here is best gay/bi-scene in all scandinavia. Here its nothing special if you announce that you like girls too (in my case). But I couldnt imagine doing that in some smaller and more conservative town in Finlans.

I got a friend living in a small town who says that she doesnt know anyone to be gay or openly kinky there. Either that is hopelessly vanilla region or people are really hiding in their closets.

Oh... gotta point out that hometown affects to how openly you express yourself - I dont think any town changes what you are :)

I live in a smal city and I know about 25 gay or bi ppl. Alot of the younger ppl here are bi. Ppl are fairly open about sexuality here and alot of ppl are accepting.

I think most myths are exactly that ... in the past in small rural areas where communication was mostly via face to face conversation, I'm sure people tended to be more secretive if they felt that they were a bit different than the norm ... everyone knows everyone ... but the internet has changed all that ... the small rural village of 500 is as part of the world community and all it's pros and cons as some person sitting in from of their computer in NY city or Tokoyo ...
