Hi
The time to give up the corrections nursing is when days like that DON'T piss you off.
Hang in there, not every day is a bad one.
On the topic of jobs..
For personal reasons I walked out of my job six weeks ago.
Prior to that I worked as an inspector of care homes for two years but the job ground me down.
Previous to that my career has always been in learning disabilities (mental handicap) but I was bitten and beaten once too often and said time to move on.
So, I need a job and as from Monday I am back working for a company I worked for 3 yrs ago, managing a care home for adults with extreme challenging behaviour and a difficult staff group.
The same home I declined to manage three years ago because I wanted a new direction.
So my slight change of direction lasted only a brief time, the staff have heard I am a hard person to work for and apparently don't want me there, and its back to being on call 24/7 and potentially hurt or having under my care hurt.
God I must be mad because despite all of this a small part of me is looking forward to the challenge.
Of course it means I can't be on the 'net all the time as i have been, but at least the bills will be paid again.
Nursing is worse than drugs..on bad days you hate it, but you keep going back for more; and on good days you wonder when the next bad day will jump up and bite you lol
