I just don't understand how you can write something you think is good and then just rip it up and feel satisfied that your time was well-spent.

Thanks for that Mab. I've been trying to pinpoint why I scrubbed that story and I think you crystalised it for me. I didn't feel that my time had been well spent, or at least the product of that time spent wasn't justification.
